Dissociative culture is knowing full well that dissociation has been your main coping mechanism from since you were little and still getting mad about the fact that something happened and you didn’t cry or scream or react externally at all. Because maybe that means it wasn’t actually that bad.
(The crying can be saved for over a month later when you get dressed, realize you’re wearing the same shirt you wore that day, and have a total breakdown. Fun.)
.
dissociation culture is i miss feeling emotion. i miss feeling anything
(tag this as a vent)

DPDR culture is being with someone you love and you suddenly feel numband disconnected, and they feel unfamiliar to you. It's like all your emotions get sucked out. And then it finally passes and upsets you. You feel like you don't care about them for a bit and it worries you, contradicting as that is.
.
dissociation culture is only feeling real around certain people and exclusively craving their attention such that you become emotionless and stop being real the second they leave
even if other people are still around

.
disassociation culture is coming back to yourself and trying to figure out why the f*ck you're crying
.
dissociation culture is feeling like ur mental illnesses are stealing your life from you and you can't remember anything and it's all slowly fading, dying slowly, and you can't even feel anything for it because you're so numb.
