Emotional outlets for an INTP
music. The INTP wants to be in charge of outward and inward sentiments, which are, normally, beyond their influence. I heard an INTJ aptly say that songs are controlled pieces of emotion, making them easy to “digest”. Very true.
binge watching. Extraverted intuition is bound to do something like that. Extraverted feeling will keep the INTP hooked. Too bad that there isn´t enough time to watch all that good stuff.
sophisticated reading. Anything that can alleviate the burden of being on this planet is good enough for INTP, who will indulge in prose especially. Maybe even poetry (linked you to my favourite short poem).
less sophisticated reading. Which, in fact, triggers heavy emotion, and despite that, is very tempting. Any fanfiction will do. If you´ve sat in your bed at 4 am, sobbing over some angsty-romantic fic without understanding why, you live the INTP life. Yes, there is crying involved.
sciencing. There´s a Bruce Banner in every INTP! Science aims to understand and explain the world - it´s only natural that “the Architects” read and talk about science, even doing sciency things themselves. You know what? We´re good at it.
sweets.
doing sport. In a solitary fashion, most probably. Mental exercise is another option.
drugs, alcohol, computer addiction. I don´t recommend doing this, but INTPs are, apparently, the most addiction-prone type, accompanied by ISFPs and ESTPs. But yeah, those are emotional outlets, too. Ironically, addiction creates more problems than you´ve had before. So guess what! Please take care of yourselves, fellow INTPs. ♥
research time. It´s very cathartic. INTPs are walking dictionaries.
foreign languages. One language is never enough. Two? Neither. As a matter of fact, the INTP wants to learn every single language on this planet. Each of them carries a certain feeling (culturally induced), which is a fun thing to adopt. Autodidactic pursuits either end in nowhere or knowhere. On the other hand, taking lessons is incredibly effective.
