so i recently started a series on ao3 based on an idea i had. it’s henry danger centered, and it’s mostly slices of life if henry and piper had an older sister. obviously there’s an OC in there, which belongs to me, and i’ll probably follow along canon unless stated otherwise in tags.

figured i’d share a link if anyone might be interested in it, because i don’t want to mix my reader inserts with my non-reader inserts

basically this idea came to me because for some reason, henry gave me middle child vibes and i figured why not give him an older sibling

Look at me, remembering it's WIP Wednesday!

I am sooo close to finishing this fake dating fic for @ofmdjanuaury's AUgust Day 17.

Noted thespians Ed and Stede (they met at an amateur production of Cats) crash open houses to hone their craft and also to get yummy cookies. Chaos and romance ensues. Potentially the biggest Idiot4Idiot I’ve ever written. They are very stupid and I love them so much. Looking to be about 15K and I will personally smite anybody who suggests it'll even be a single word more.

Pro: just finished another chapter in my current WIP and am feeling really good about how it's going!

Con: I was originally thinking this story would be about 60K. I just mathed and it's looking more like 87K. Which really means 90K. If I'm good. I have a track record of not being very good so this could easily turn into 100K.

I'm, uh, sweating a bit nervously about this ngl. I am deeply in love with this story, it's by far the most complex thing I've ever written, it's a really cool concept and there are some REALLY BIG FEELINGS.

But it also centers around a fairly niche hyperfixation of mine, so combining that with the length of it... just very much hoping it has an audience of more than me and my beloved, overworked beta reader. 😅

I've long wanted to do an editing sweep of Lighthouse Sanctuary. I was highly conscious of the fact that I was a better writer by the time I finished it than when I started, and I remember picking up some things when I was posted the final few chapters and going "damn, I prob did this earlier, too, I wish I had caught them earlier."

So as much as I wanted to edit it to make it stronger, I also dreaded it. I tend not to re-read my own work, because I assume I'm going to find a million things I want to change and I don't have time for that. Once a story is posted, it is simply none of my business. And I was especially wary of this fic, which was so close to my heart. I just didn't want to read it again and end up wanting to change everything about it.

But I won that bookbinding prize, so I figured now was as good a time as any to go through and clean it up, just so there wouldn't be any embarrassing typos and such committed to print.

And... it kind of slaps?

I really love it.

I'd read this on my own.

Feels good. 💖
