Could be plot relevant for a number of reasons that means its a surprise. Maybe hes straight and we the audience wont know Gils crush is doomed, maybe hes bi/pan/gay and his family is homophobic. I'm also curious about this.
but tbh gil’s crush being doomed is not plot relevant... not that we know. he doesn’t have a pact yet, and i doubt his part of the pact is going to be related to love. unlike maggie’s. whose love life is indeed plot relevant because her part of the pact is related to finding the man of her dreams. if anything, gil’s sexuality would have been a spoiler, not odin’s. we knew maggie’s crush was doomed from the start, and that it risks her pact as a whole
also about homophobia... hmmm the comic is based in a future universe. no character has ever made a homophobic comment
i do fear a love square, though. ava being in love with maggie, who is straight and in love with gil, who is gay, and gil being in love with odin. i don’t like the idea of odin liking ava in that way, given that she reminds him of his sisters... that are like 12 lmao
