And now a double drabble based on something me and my siblings used to do with the porch eggchair:
Alma checked the closet for the third time, listening to the giggles of a pair of toddlers all the while.
“Alright fess up, where did you put her?” she turned to the closet doorway to her green-eyed children.
Their grins would’ve been creepy if she hadn’t had to stop them from eating soap last week.
“Where is Julieta?” she asked again.
They shook their heads in near unison.
“We’re not telling!” Pepa said in a sing-song voice.
Alma sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose.
Before she could say anything, she heard the most dramatic, sorrowful, high-pitched wail she had ever or would ever hear.
“Julieta! You ruined it!” Pepa cried.
“I can’t breathe poo poo head!” the brunette was already heading to the living room where she thought that giant pile of blankets was just her kids playing earlier.
It was. But there was also her kid underneath.
When she ripped off the, at least 8, blankets, her eldest gasped dramatically like she hadn’t had a breath of fresh air in 10 years
despite being 4.
“What were you three doing?” Alma asked once her other kids had come over.
“We wanted to try burying her.”
Alma sighed, facepalming.
Fun fact: Pedro HATED flowers 'cause of some trauma when he was like Antonio's age and only pretended to tolerate them for Alma.
His siblings did not try to hide their flower-hatred though, his sister once convinced a guy she vomited after he tried to give her flowers by going around a corner and making shockingly accurate noises.

Isabela/Fern & Frost's kids:
Clay Cyril Terre-Madrigal: Decided to run away and survive off the land using the gardening skills he learned from his mama's fiance(Isabela/Fern).
This is already a problem.
It is extra worrying when you know he was nine.
Antonio was the one to find him in the mountains trying to figure out how to get food while his plants were growing.
Skye Samuel Terre-Madrigal: One night Luisa came out of her room at midnight to get a glass of water. And what was happening in the courtyard?
17-year-old Skye practicing sword fighting on a wooden dummy with the sharpest iron sword she's ever seen of course!
What a way to find out your nephew's interested in sword-fighting as well as black-smithing huh?
Dolores & Mariano's kids:
Alina Sophie Guzman-Madrigal: Decided to try out acrobatics on Fern's vines. This would not be a problem except for the following;
1: It was Hugos gift ceremony and so the net stopping anyone falling from the third floor to the first was not up.
2: She didn't tell anybody she wanted to do this.
3: She was 14-years-old.
Luisa caught her before she hit the floor but Alina still twisted her wrist and got grounded for 4 months.
David Fabian Guzman-Madrigal: He jumped out the window after Dolores told him he wasn't allowed to go down the stairs. They were on the second story and he landed on his leg, breaking his ankle & dislocating his knee.
The reason he wasn't allowed to go down was because they were setting up a surprise party for him & his siblings 14th birthday.
He got grounded for 3 months.
Mateo Felix Guzman-Madrigal: He inherited his mothers trait of being the calmest of the generation.
So the scariest moment was when they brought him into town the day of Adella's gift ceremony. This wouldn't be a problem except her door hadn't appeared yet.
All the emotions were so overwhelming for his little 5-year-old brain that he fainted.
Luisa & Jeronimo's kids:
Adella Eliza Perez-Madrigal: She found something neat so she went down to the kitchen to show her abuela, the only adult home at the time.
Julieta turned around to find her 6-year-old granddaughter holding up a the sharpest iron sword she's ever seen that was also almost bigger than the kid holding it.
A minute later Skye came into the kitchen to find his cousin holding the sword he finished last week and his abuela fainted.
Emmanuel Geraldo Perez-Madrigal: They all knew a teenager experimenting with alchemy can get dangerous.
But it's still a pretty unexpected sight to come running into your 16-year-old son's room only to find him on the floor with a completely broken desk and a giant bleeding wound on his arm.
He did eat some of his abuela's food in time for him to not bleed too much but due to the cause of the injury being magical it still left the regrown skin very pale in a vaguely butterfly-looking shape.
Gabriela Julieta Perez-Madrigal: They knew she had a lot of allergies before this but the way they found out about her corn allergy was quite scary.
She got a scrapped knee and was given one of Julieta's arepas. Her knee healed immediately but it turns out that if someone is allergic to the healing food they're eating; they have a minor seizure.
Did I mention Gabriela was 2 at the time?
Mirabel & Lucas's kids:
Bianca Isabela Santos-Madrigal: She made a ramp out of ice while biking at full speed. She went so fast she would've definitely died if not for Fern creating a ton of bushes for her to land in.
The 12-year-old still broke multiple bones in multiple limbs and got grounded for 2 months & banned from biking for several.
Savannah Luisa Santos-Madrigal: The morning after the girls' 18th birthday they came down to find all the lanterns in Casita turned on with blue fire and traces of Savannah's fire in the courtyard & on the guest room door.
They all panicked and were searching all morning until Savannah came home with cut hair, traces of her fire all along her collarbone & a completely new outfit.
Turns out she was just at tio Miguel & tio Aaron's house dealing with some personal sh!t.
Hugo Agustin Santos-Madrigal: Like all gifts, his activated immediately. This is why spikes immediately sprouted around him and everyone briefly thought he'd died until he started sobbing.
It took a few minutes to calm him down and to figure out how to retract the spikes.
He was physically fine but now he's stuck with claustrophobia.
Camilo's kid:
Maria Dulce Callisto-Madrigal: Camilo first found her stuck in a tree when she was 3 after her biological parents had apparently left her there the day before.
It took him 3 hours to get her down and back home.
She was then adopted by Camilo and no longer remembers this event.
Antonio's kid:
Luciana Zoey Madrigal-Jones: Her bisabuelo & his hermana decided to show her this popular ghost spot in the middle of the woods.
The 6-year-old had a very fun time and was confused when her papa came running over and held her crying.
No one knew where she'd gone and they couldn't find her until Dolores woke up from the afternoon nap she was having.
