no clue if this counts cuz its a brain injury-related condition and not necessarily neuropsych but i think this is the better blog?
i saw a video of a man explaining the incorrect assumptions made on aspartame, talking in a very ‘caveman-esque’ way, but the caption read “explaining aspartame for you but we both hace cte”
its disgusting how people think this is a valid way to make a point
not only did it a) infantilize the viewer/target, people who have been misinformed about aspartame and its effects, but more glaringly it b) is just super fucking ableist to people with cte. its a terrifying condition that deeply effects your life, and to joke about it like its just “stupid disease” makes me disgusted
my uncle had cte. it made his life hell. he couldnt think clearly or act clearly. he couldnt walk in a straight line. he was depressed all the time.
cte is a real fucking condition. people with brain injuries and idds will fucking exist. its not a joke.
This is neuropsych ableism.
I hate those "explaining [insert thing] but we both have [insert condition]" videos. I've seen multiple of them and they piss me off every time.
(Note: Brain injuries absolutely count on this blog. This blog isn't just for congenital or trauma induced neuropsych conditions, but all neuropsych conditions, including those from brain injuries.)
