My ears immediately perked up when I heard The Lightning Year’s wavy synthpop. Their debut single Endless Memory happened to be Soundcloud’s choice in autoplay when I was completing writing up a feature on another track yesterday, and I was instantaneously drawn to its slick shimmering melody and glossy psychedelic sheen. I stopped all that I was doing and added Endless Memory to my scheduled list of shares. Behind this charismatic new project is Crystal Palace’s Matt Bishop. The five piece band from London has me spinning in ecstatic circles with their first fluorescent gem, out now on iTunes.

Nice Swan Records ist ein ganz neues Indie- Label. Nach dem eher mauen Debut mit der Single „Social Experiment“ der Dead Pretties ist mir das zweite Signing des Labels besonders aufgefallen: The Lightning year. Und deren Single „Endless memory“ entwickelt sich gerade zu einem hell strahlenden Fixstern des Indie-Pop 2017.
