Joining in on the bandwagon of creating an app for plurals.
Just to be 100% clear. We would not be recreating Simply Plural.
1) That's way too complex for our skill level, and as a chronically ill, disabled person with a full time job and a half, we could not even think about doing it.
2) SP never interested us as a whole. We don't really care about tracking fronters and we're a small enough system with good enough internal communication and memory that we never needed help keeping track. I totally get why it's important for a lot of folks. Just not for us.
And
3) We've been thinking about a particular kind of app for awhile, long before SP was even a thing.
The issue is we're a web designer, first and foremost, with moderate ability to create interactive websites, and with only the barest knowledge of mobile app design. We'd need to learn A LOT to do even the simplest version of a mobile app. But. In between all our other million and a half projects, we'll squeeze in time to do this.
The idea is basically an offline, secure, system log and journal app. (Like a private Discord server, but offline and lockable.) Put all your systemmates in it, and each can write notes, have meetings, and keep a journal, with templates you can use. All searchable by date, author, and tag.
This sounds doable, though I don't expect to have anything actually usable for at least a year. Maybe longer, depending on how long it takes us to learn how to properly do each bit.
And this is going to be, first and foremost, for ourselves. And not just for our system, but for our portfolio to make us more hireable in a tough job market.
But. PluraLog. (Working name.) It will, eventually, be a thing. :)
