Enlightenment
Ope. Surprise Christopher Brown.
in psychology we understand this as “neurons that fire together wire together”
when you think negatively for an extended period of time you’re teaching your brain. the neurons that fire negative emotions will be wired together to create a stronger connection towards negativity. it will be easier for you to access that route and can become automatic. you will then start to see negativity where there isn’t any. because you created a shortcut for your brain. perception is the biggest illusion of all when you aren’t aware of yourself and your habits.
Hijacked
Postmodernism didn't fix the world because it wasn't the enlightenment that went off the rails in the modern era
It was the combination of modernism and capitalism
We used enlightened thinking to focus on money rather than happiness
Capitalism infected us with growth
Moral decadence led to the Enlightenment, which was the rationalization of passion. The Enlightenment led then to the Revolution, which was the projection of those principles onto the political sphere, and the Revolution in turn led to the Terror, which was the logical outcome of passions unbridled by reason leading to death.
