Ennkoh’s specific beliefs
This is long so, under a cut it goes! But the first part is “This is a sect that I made up that Ennkoh is in, but feel free to reference/have trolls in it as well” and the second part is “Here is what Ennkoh thinks this sect SHOULD be and wants to change when she eventually leaves her branch”
I think this first bit is just a General Clown Sect that Ennkoh’s believed in/been taught her whole life, but you’re more than welcome to have a troll also follow this specific sect or reference it.
The moons are important to mirthful, and while they’re not the focus of Ennkoh’s beliefs, they’re still very important and the position of them is always taken into consideration during religious ceremonies and are held in high esteem. There are certain saints that were said to be the spirits of both moons brought into flesh to guide the faith of the Messiahs along a better path.
The Messiahs brought their miracles to the people of Alternia and the indigos were the first to receive their message, dedicating their lives to the wicked whimsy and keeping their kingdoms strong by subjugating the threats and performing religious rituals.
Once the seadwellers began conquering the land, it was a mirthful’s job to protect their home from the godless abominations that came from the ocean. However, the seadweller’s unexpected string of victories began to worry mirthful, who have began to become ostracized from their blueblooded cousins for their faith.
Tienne Poulpe, The Martyred is considered one of the earliest mirthful saints because of her sacrifice for the good of the church. Tienne lobbied for religious freedom in the budding seadweller empire, subjugating those in her way until she decided that preaching may work better. There had been talks of mirthful indigos and the seadwellers working together to better cement the new empire, but tensions had been too high and there had been few mirthful willing to risk preaching near seadwellers. Tienne had made a reputation for herself and made a big deal out of being willing to die for her faith if it was needed to grease the wheels of negotiation between seadwellers and indigos, and she WAS killed for her faith, which had the exact result she’d hoped for. More clowns were martyred, but eventually the mirthful and the seadwellers realized the benefits of working together and made a pact to help build the glorious empire.
Throughout history, many more clowns have been posthumously deemed saints, whether it was for martyrdom or for a life of outstanding mirth. Saints have days dedicated to them and are generally celebrated by going to a carnival.

Okay this stuff is where I imagine Ennkoh would be called a heretic for believing. Everything below is ENNKOH-SPECIFIC.
An indigo is a proper, real clown and should be held responsible for the well-being of their troupe and acolytes. Clowns should wear facepaint most or all of the time, though more of that is based on branch, age, and position. An indigo should lead ceremonies, see to the organization of carnivals, and should be the only ones subjugating in the name of the Messiahs. It’s not an indigo’s job to be needlessly cruel, but to instead be appropriately just. That being said, it’s not an indigo’s place to be a pacifist, if they need to step up and commit a violent act, then they should do so.
Excessive drinking is frowned on, and drug abuse should be treated rather than normalized and abused within the clown community. Indigos should be educated on their faith, and the higher up in the church they get, the more studies are required as well as more physical training. An indigo should have well-maintained combat skills, they’re just as important as whichever performance art a mirthful chooses to practice. Voodoos are a blessing from the Messiahs which an indigo must train extensively for and to maintain. Loyalty is important, but brainwashing and blackmail are to not be used on fellow mirthful. Torture is frowned upon in most cases.
Acolytes: Should be thoroughly educated and used to bridge the gap between the mirthful and the unmirthful. Acolytes do not ever wear full paint, and are not required to wear half-paint. Promises of a better life should be kept and not used to coerce trolls into joining. Acolytes should not be used to recruit and should not be sent to preach on behalf of the church, instead they should focus on giving assistance to their communities in the name of the church. Acolytes should not be harmed unless they harm another mirthful first, and should not be given subjugation duties. They are not to be used and devalued even though they are not proper clowns and will never be if they’re not indigo. The Messiahs allowed indigos to be the first acolytes, protecting and educating them rather than trapping them and using them, so indigos should follow in that example.
