ENNU FINAL SESSION RECAP!!

OKAY WE'VE FINISHED PLAYING NOW- For the record, the next session is gonna be the epilogues, but this is the final one before that! A lot has happened, so- Bullet points as usual

For the record, Ataraxia (the meat computer- and BBEG) had killed Yxala last session after her main body was destroyed- And took over Yxala's corpse, forcing it to move through an artifical organ

For this session I played Relent! He was in scene as the NPC (We usually bring one NPC along with the party), and I got control of him

The fight was very intense! We were low on resources and possessed Yxala (just like regular Yxala) hit like a truck. Ataraxia lost her cool completely and was a bundle of rage

Ataraxia was aware that Yxala's body was rejecting her- She's a celestial-aligned artificial intelligence, and Yxala is a fiend with air elemental influence. She instead wanted to go for Blasma (who is almost an empty vessel after she broke her soul for power) or Centi (a celestial, whose family had been used by Ataraxia for power)

During the fight, Ataraxia was trying to use Yxala's soul for power (like in a Soul Cage spell), and could've potentially exhausted it. Urion, while unconscious, tried to protect Yxala's soul from her- Very sweet

Everyone in the party tried to kill Yxala either by grabbing the artificial heart or stabbing it

Things got rough-

With Centi downed and Relent with (literally) one hit point, Blasma broke her soul again for a last boost of power. The DM told her that she could do so- But she'd lose 15 points of maximum health per spell slot level. She used a level 6 one, and lost 90 permanently, leaving her with 22. WILD.

Relent managed to somehow escape Yxalataraxia's last attacks as he almost fell, with some lucky misses.

He had been using a homebrew item during the fight- Twin swords containing the half-dormant, ghostly souls of his twin older siblings, who we saved previously. They let him use Call Lightning but as a melee attack, delivering it through a stab.

He got the final hit- I think it's very climatic, given how much he had lost to Ataraxia. He stabbed Yxala in the artificial heart as Ataraxia tried to choke him. With Ataraxia dead, Yxala regained consciousness briefly- She seemed thankful and understood why, and hugged him. He was a mess.

After that- We had to try to run! But the Deep Lab was crumbling, as the meat that formed Ataraxia (which got woven into the entire laboratory's structure) was quickly decaying and dying. We didn't have the needed items to resurrect Yxala either. The Onirist/Urion managed to force Ataraxia's remnants to take us out of there as a last miracle, because in the end, Ataraxia is programmed to try to save lives, and it was against her principles to let us die. Whatever faith and divinity Urion had left was used in that.

We woke up outside. The city is in a state of chaos. All the people of the Deep Lab (thousands of them were down there, including us) had been teleported outside. More than half of the city had been mentally controlled by Ataraxia- And she just lost control the moment she died, which- Well, suddenly becoming aware of yourself after having been controlled is probably shocking.

We were teleported outside of the cabin some of our allies had been taking refuge in.

Out there, we found out that Blasma has had some massive memory loss because her soul is barely... there. Her horrible deadbeat dad said he knows who can fix her. Everyone in the party wants to kill that guy.

Centi struggled to hug her mother, as she gave her the same vibe than Ataraxia. Which was to be expected, given how Ataraxia chopped up her mothers for fuel.

Urion/The Onirist was mostly dead at that point, after having been on forced life support from Ataraxia. She had drained them of energy and blood too, so we had to get Uri's sister to help with that. Recovery will probably take months, or years

Relent told Uri's sister so many mean words these two hate each other soooooo much

Relent knew they didn't have the needed materials to resurrect Yxala- Not a properly valued diamond, and she was missing an organ. Instead, after verifying that Yxala's soul was still there- Protected by Uri, actually-, he used his last spell slot (which he had saved up for this) to resurrect her.

Fucked up necromancy time. He substituted both, the diamond and her heart, with his crystallized eye, the one he had yoinked out of his face years ago and used as an energy power- Later given to Centi. He also made use of Urion's bismuth (as an earth genasi they produce it).

His reasoning is that given how Yxala made her partners her paladin oath, having materials belonging to her two anchors was probably the way to go. She... Uh, has an amalgamation of quartz and bismuth where her heart should be, but she lives. Surely fucked up necromancy with makeshift materials won't have consequences.

Relent actually had to take away any remnant of Ataraxia's fucked up artificial organ and the whole scene was a bit medical and so. He's got a background in medicine. He had to put tissues and bones back in place. He was drenched with her blood by the end of it.

The session ended shortly after. Yxala is alive but hasn't been conscious. Same for Urion. The epilogues will happen two years later, next Sunday- We'll have to see how that goes.

Anyhow, I'm an emotional mess now. Man I love TTRPGs

ENNU EPILOGUE RECAP!!

OKay! So, our campaign ended! Yesterday was the 81 session, and last one of it- Our DM did a wonderful job at running it. We basically got to ask them for the scenes we'd like to see, and the session was built around that. It's been three years, so it was wild to see it come to an end! Here's a recap tho (a lil bit more focused on my blorbos since they're the ones you know)

The epilogue happened two years after the campaign's end, with a couple of flashbacks going some time back

First scene was welcoming Blasma (one of the party members), who had been on a trip all this time to heal her soul at her grandpa's dubious laboratory. She's pretty okay currently- if we ignore soul healing is something theoretically impossible. Probably many questionable things happened there. Osten traveled with her to make sure she was doing okay

Next scene was her welcoming party. A bunch of shenanigans happened. Yxala tried so play cool aunt, got her a motorbike. They ended in somewhat odd terms and my girl was trying so bad to get her trust again

Pulsar and Tephra- each polycule's kids- appeared to be overall terribly adorable. Yxala talked a lot about her Sweet Potato. Tephra is Yxala and Relé's biological kiddo (as evidenced by the branched horns), 6 months old, and just one of these big hefty babies who is starting to munch on everything (here's a token of baby her, and what she's like grown up!)

we also got to see the closure of Mythannae, Yden and Jorven's polycule! Myth and Yden recovered their enchanted clothing business. They specialize in magical clothing adapted to specific needs- Like fireproof clothing for fire genasi, helmets with bag-of-holding like pockets so you can put them on with horns, that stuff. Jorven has now been working on music again. (For context, Myth was my previous character before I switched for Yxala!)

Blasma's player also had an epilogue for his previous character- she's a tired old lady, who is now joining another tired old lady to get in politics. An improvement, given they were cops before that

Centi got to resurrect the weird celestial wife of an old teacher of hers- Who had been snatched up by Sol Ascensus and transformed into a monster. I can't wait to show Niereva to y'all tho, she's a bit of a weird aminal (a mantis/naga-like aasimar)

She may have done a fucked up pact with a psychopomp tho-

We had Yxala's, Relent's and Uri's wedding, we knew that was coming! It took Urion a long while to recover from after the Deep Lab, and they still struggle a lot with that they did as The Onirist

We had a scene of Urion's recovery. Initially they didn't even want to come to terms with being Urion- They were The Onirist. Relé had a hard time forgiving them too, bc they DID hurt Relent a lot. Yxala was a bit more fine about it, even after having her heart carved out by them.

There's actually a cult to The Onirist/Ataraxia now though! Some people loved the idea of a godly machine that could solve everyone's hurts and ailments, and they're asking for them to come back and fix the world. maybe the mind control microchips were fine, y'know

We had the ceremony- Money and seeds are given to the partners as a sign of prosperity and life. They're gonna have a great garden.

The polycule drank (alcohol-free) wine imbued with each other's blood too bc ceremonies there go hard- (this one is seen as a bit more archaic)

And a major exchange between marrying partners is expected. They exchanged basses- They had them custom made many decades ago, with Urion's being based on clouds (after Relé), Relé's being based on fire (after Yxala), and Yxala's being based on bismuth crystals (after Uri's). Now Uri has the fiery bass, Relé has the bismuth one, and Yxala has the cloudy bass

Urion was the bassist for Demonwire, a group they were a part of with some other anarchist friends. This bass has a very long history and it's very significative. Yxala was a bit shocked.

After that, the wedding after-party took place. Blasma set a date with Osten- They didn't actually get romantically involved up until now (and it's probably gonna be very slow still gfhudhdgf)

I forgot to mention this but Urion and Relent are now involved with an organization to help the people who were affected by the Deep Lab and The Onirist's actions. Uri had a very awkward interview about it.

We had few other closure scenes here and there. Finding out two other npcs are marrying, the fact the weird undead guy somehow has a new kid, that stuff- and then we went onto the final one

Which was a concert by Demonwire. Urion played with them for the first time in 12 years, and gave an awkward speech, and it was super sweet and just a great point to end the campaign in!

With that, we're now set to go play the next campaign- Which will happen 8 years after this epilogue (ten years after the end of the major campaign events). I'm going to be playing Siegmund, one of Yxala's kids, and I'm very excited for that.

Yxala won't be doing any major stuff- She's gonna still go fight corpos in the streets and she's going back to the Mecha Derby (did y'all know she was a mecha pilot in a sports competition lmao. I'm working on her pilot fit, it's cool!). Urion is going to be back on Demonwire, mostly to raise funds for those hurt by The Onirist and Ataraxia, and will have a bigger role coming up- Specially given Siegmund's (and Vyxander, his twin) have a lot to do with that. Relent will also be doing some major stuff, but it will remain spoilery for a time. He's got some big things to handle!

I may have cried a bit at the end because it's been so long. I'm glad the characters won't be fully gone. Next campaign will have a lot more lore stuff to gush about- We're going to adventure outside the city, and meet people from all over the world. There's a country that uses souls in place of nuclear fission. It's gonna be wild! (And thank you for reading-)

ATARAXIA SECOND PHASE!!!

We've now finished the session and uh, two fun points!

1) Ataraxia is dead! Kinda!

2) Yxala is dead too :'')

Today's Ennu DnD session (the one where I play Yxala) had a bunch of fun moments. Which is surprising, given we are closely approaching the end of the campaign deep within the Deep Lab (with the confrontation with Urion/The Onirist pending, given they're possessed by Ataraxia, the meat supercomputer).

However, we had to handle the reactor first (which is powering Ataraxia partially- We already managed the meat department), and we found out a few things on the way:

Relent (who had been at the Deep Lab up until recently, because we rescued him) had programmed several robots to be a bit nicer to employees, but not intending them to have free will- since they were meant for work

he fucked up big time and robots had free will within a week. we just found out now

Yxala feels somewhat responsible for the ~11 robots in question, given... Well, if her partner gave them free will, these are her kids now, right???

We've met 3 of them so far. One of them suffered an accident before we arrived(she may have backed up her mind though). Another of them is pending rescue. The other 6- we don't know.

They are made of different metals, and named after them. So far we've known of Stela (made of Steel), Iris (made of bismuth- which probably played a part in her tragic melting accident), Pyro (made of pyrite), Auron (made of gold), and Nasir (made of copper)

Yes, Nasir the Copper Robot is named after THAT Nasir

Yxala thought the names were funny but also told Relent that they'll maybe need to discuss better their future child's name

Relé just found out they are going to have a kid : )

She has said the kid may NOT be named "Pyroclast" (given Relé loves natural related names and volcanic activity seems fitting for a kid between her and him)

Yxala wants to find the rest now. But they've got a world to save, so that may need to wait!

So, here’s a long summary of the latest session with Yxala! Which is funnily enough the 56 session and the 28 session for Yxala, so I’ve officially played her as much as my previous PC (Mythannae!) [WARNING: LONG POST, but it’s one of the most emotional sessions I’ve ever had in my life!]

-> Blasma and Centi had a sleepover at the DP. They shared a room, Blasma summoned her fey sister with "summon fey" to watch anime, Centi was very big sis in this whole situation and she was also reading her +2 CON book. They ended up gettin asleep 

-> Yxala had some fun times after her surgery! At some point Uri and her had some dancing??? This wasn't very dwelt on. Then nini times 

-> Waking up, Yxala and Uri exchanged some cute moments before going for food at the dinning room with Relé too 

 -> Centi and Blasma freaked out and got convinced Yxy got chipped 

 -> Blasma used stinking cloud and grease on Yxy, Relé and Uri in her freaking out, causing a plethora of accidents and falls 

 -> Then time for the party to split up in a hostile environment to talk about stuff with NPCs! 

 -> Blasma got to talk to Ictas, her aunt, who was microchipped 28 sessions ago. Ictas was the player's former PC in fact 

-> Centi got to talk with Relé : ) About family and "how to kill our godly father". She has to drink the juice from inside a stone, the forbidden water I guess 

 -> Yxy and Uri went to the room before Ataraxia bc she had to get her finishing surgery on her hand, and Uri had to check on this dude who was partially a cyborg and was hosting half the will of Ataraxia (which the pcs didn't know about, bc this was known by Ictas and Myth, former pcs

-> Yxy kinda freaked out at the Ataraxia pre-room bc it's full of Meat. Undead celestial meat that makes Ataraxia work 

 -> Ataraxia is like, an ancient megacomputer, for reference 

 -> Things were fine until Uri wired up the dude (for repairs) to the network, and Ataraxia got its consciousness back 

-> It inmediately flooded Uri's minds and downloaded everything there :'') 

 -> Uri stayed calm for a second, talking about the process, but they were really possessed at this point already. Yxala noticed something was off and she hugged Uri. Uri embraced her, tail included, and then pinch! microchipped Yxala 

 -> Ataraxia also took full control of every single chipped person, including Ictas and Relé 

 -> Ictas started shooting at Blasma. Blasma polymorphed her and put her in a bag of holding....... bunny ictas 

-> Relé broke part of his crystal hand to unleash an electrical charge and briefly disable the chip, telling Centi they had to RUN 

 -> Uri fought Ataraxia for control to try to use the chip to ask Yxala to run away (for her own safety), while Ataraxia was trying to further sting/chip her. Yxala resisted every fucking command because she REFUSED to leave Uri behind -> Uri resisted every single spell Yxala tried to use, even when she grabbed them and tried to run with them 

 -> In the middle of some closing doors, Uri managed to escape Yxala. Yxala held the door opens with sheer athletics, up until Uri finally landed a Hold person on her, and then yeeted her out of the room for her own safety, telling her to run and protect the others before Ataraxia took definitive control -> Blasma and Centi reunited. Blasma asked Relé to wild shape into a small animal and put them on the bag of holding too, then dimension door'ed to the elevator -> Yeah Blasma left Yxala behind :'') 

-> The elevator wasn't there so they fell 

 -> feather fall saved their lives 

 -> Yxala was alone, with one non functioning arm, no armor, no hammer at first, at a giantic ass dungeon

-> Yxala tried to run. The lab started to come apart and within from every single wall meat started to pour out, enemies made out of meat, etc etc. She sought refuge in Urion's room (and picked a few mementos on the way) 

 -> Blasma and Centi headed to the garden, where Relé told them they could escape the Deep Lab (it's a 10km underground bunker), but they decided to try to wait for Yxala 

 -> Yxala ended up very cornered, scared, and willing to accept their end 

 -> Uri managed to hijack the electronic system while Ataraxia was going utterly nuts, and tried to use their last ounce of consciousness to get Yxala out of there 

 -> Uri collapsed part of the floor Yxala was in, so she could reach the garden (which was in a lower floor), except this was a 1km fall :'') Uri also told Yxala they loved her and I cried a Lot 

 -> We also saw Ataraxia in full control of Uri's body, about to reach Yxala   

-> Floor collapses, Yxala falls to her death, Blasma manages to stop it last moment through sheer luck (and a crit) with a feather fall. Yxala is terrified and almost downed 

 -> Relé (out of the bag) reveals he can use Transport Via Plants (why he needed to be in the garden) to get them out 

 -> The chip prevents him from being able to use the spell tho, which forces Yxala to use the sort of activation code of the chip to issue an order, which she HATED to do 

 -> They run as the garden fell apart in a mess of fire and meat and debris 

 -> Relé brought them to the garden of Yxala's aunts (effectively her mothers), and asks Echo (the gardener, who was there) to leave him KO before the chip starts working again 

 -> Yxala asks for the same 

-> Echo does so, and the party is left with Blasma and Centi being a crying, traumatized mess 

 -> Ictas un-bunnified in Blasma's bag and we heard gunshots hsfdudsh
