Stan: Which is why they need to stay here! So they don't get hurt or, more importantly, hurt anyone else!

Fidds, calming down slightly: Mason, honey, I don't got time t' deal with that particular thing at the moment. It happened, it's in the past, we'll drop it fer now and talk later.

Dipper, tucking his tail: Okay...

Fidds: *Sighs and Crouches Down to Place a Hand Onto Dipper's Cheek* Sweetheart, I promise ya ain't gonna get punished. I'm a little miffed, I won't lie, but not at what ya did. Though we may need t' work on appropriate reactions in the future, okay?

Dipper: *Nods* Okay.

Fidds: Attaboy. Now, you and Mabel go t' yer room. Get some rest and talk things out.

Dipper, with more confidence: Okay. *Leads Mabel Upstairs*

“Not really,” Jake said, being honest, mostly. “If I piss you off, what the hell else are you gonna do?” He shrugged. “I’m adaptable. Pretty used to the shit y’all pull anyway.”

Maybe he needed to lighten his tone, considering who he was talking to, but Jake also didn’t care. He knew, deep down, that who he was talking to was unspeakably powerful, but in the moment it didn’t matter. It was like he was just talking to a killer with spite instead, knowing it could get him killed or worse but not bothering to stop himself. He didn’t really think something this powerful would be all that sensitive, anyway.

At least he wasn’t currently being overtly aggressive. “Sorry I skimmed the invitation,” he said, sounding not very sorry at all, “I see somethin’ about an Entity’s birthday party or whatever the hell this is and it loses my interest.” And yet he’d shown up anyway. Not of his own volition, of course. Jake took a drink as the Entity spoke, eyebrow twitching at the utterance of his full name. He still hated that; he’d gone through great pains to never use his own surname, and yet.

“Aren’t you perceptive,” Jake said, sighing. “I’m just curious about a couple things. Never talked to an Entity before.” Well… bar one, but this one didn’t need to know that yet, did they? “You’re not my Entity, right?” He was pretty sure that was the case. Jake got notes from his Entity, or what he pretty sure was that, every now and again, and they were always signed with a pawprint and the mark of talons. This one… did not look in any way like they’d do the same.
