Sunday morning
I think more of my winter Sunday mornings should start like this. It’s 7:30 am and I have bread just starting its bulk ferment and I’m sitting on the couch with a cup of tea and a book. ( Wild by Cheryl Strayed for those who are bookies) My bread dough feels good, strong, delicious-bound. Is that a sign?? January has been good so far. Lots of lots, Michelle

October Update
Things in the garden are officially put to rest for the winter. Just last week, we had a nice day and I couldn’t procrastinate it any longer. I got in there and cut down all of the plants at the soil level, leaving the roots in. We pulled out all the cages and other structures in there. I mixed in the compost that had been cooking all summer, I was pleasantly surprised that any of it was useable…

Last Garden Update of 2022
It’s been quite the year in the garden! The days are getting shorter and cooler. The leaves are starting to turn orange. Fall is in the air! I also put a plank down on my row of carrots to test out an IG theory, stay…

Garden Update – End of July
Things are really coming along with summer in full swing! I’ve been harvesting a few things here and there and have been able to eat something fresh from the garden almost everyday for the past few weeks!! Right now I’m eating a breakfast staring a little zucchini! I have harvested three zucchinis so far and it doesn’t look like those plants will be slowing down anytime soon! Pruning was the…

Garden Journal Entry #2
The dirt disaster So this past Friday was the day I could finally go pick up the soil for my garden beds!! Yay!! I was so excited to get it done so I could start planting. I got out of work an hour early so I could head to the landscaping yard and pick it up. I was thinking I might have to make a couple trips so I wanted to get started ASAP! First trip went off without a hitch. We loaded up,…

Garden Journal Entry #1
Hello! I’ve decided to start a lil weekly garden update here on the blog. I use weekly loosely, I’m not sure exactly how often it will be. But I think newsletters and blogs will be making a come back and I much prefer writing to the tediousness of taking and editing photos and videos. I direct sowed a double row of sugar snap peas, two rows of carrots, one square foot each of spinach, speckled…
