episode 265: Luffy Cuts Through! Big Showdown On the Judicial Island!
sodom and gomorrah just leaping over the gate??? okay guys i see you!! didn't know they could do that!!!
this is so funny dude YOU ARE A WANTED CRIMINAL WHO LITERALLY JUST BROKE IN
LMAO this is gold. i never even considered luffy using a human robot shield but this is hilarious. him making robot noises the whole time (as we all would, lets admit it) is really funny too.
this is so goofy i love it
god he looks cool here. he's such a dork it's easy to forget sometimes he's actually pretty good at fighting.
him just leapfrogging over the gate was really cool too. i always like when he uses his powers for traversal, especially when they're creative and use his environment around him.
obligatory fuck spandam but he has the right idea here i think. luffy has shown absolute strength, insane drive and a blatant disrespect for the logic of the marine. it is 100% worth making this much of a ruckus over one guy.

he doesn't have a devil fruit power, right?? he can just... do that? dude's rope game is strong as FUCK. AND THAT'S WHY WE LOVE HIM!!! WHOO YEAH GO PAULIE GO!!!!
always love when a character uses a gun or something as a blunt force weapon.
OH MY GOD HE CAN TELEPORT THE HAIR????
there is something very funny about opening a giant lock with a sword. as if the objects are both serve the same utility but are just scaled up.
i thought the franky family guys were giants, but these guys are GIANT giants. like the elbaf giants from little garden!
i do like their designs though, even if they are bad guys.
...this should go well...
LUFFY VERSUS 10,000 MEN LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Me and Happy are goin’ on a little training mission. Be back in a year or so. Tell everybody ‘bye’ for us, will ya? Thanks, Lucy! See ya later!
“How can you just up and leave me alone for an entire freakin’ year?! How dumb are you, Natsu? Can’t you see--? Did you even think of what this would do to me?!”

[deep inhale] ......bitch.
Dude...you are literally committing like 5 different crimes right now. On top of the usual crime scene meddling that you usually do. This is why I cannot fucking stand Shinichi's holier than thou soapboxing.
Genuinely, how is the dead child's father choosing to take the fall for the murder all that different from you knocking out Kogoro and having him go on court record saying things he would never say??? Literally did the usual 'never mind what I just said' Sleeping Kogoro bit, but this time it's IN COURT! This is going on legal record. It's not even a case where an innocent person is being framed unfairly. The defendant deliberately made himself the perp and was actively trying to go down for the crime because he loved his ex-wife (and probably empathised with the feelings that drove her to murder).
It's so annoying because I was really enjoying this episode. I really liked getting to see the part of the criminal justice process that happens after the arrest. 99.999% of episodes leave you with the requisite confession and arrest, but that's just the start of the process. And like Eri had said in her intro episode, I could totally see a bunch of people getting their cases thrown out based on the way the cases were handled.
And just to really kick me when I'm annoyed, the episode ends with Eri being a brat and neglecting her daughter (again) because Kogoro was his usual womanising self. Thanks for that author's note, Gosho 😒
We can all be the old man hero someday.

i’m cracking up, apparently Dranbolt was a Fairy Tail member the whole fucking time and didn’t know because he erased his own fucking memory to infiltrate the magic council?? he’s like “i did WHAT NOW???”
so when he infliltrated Fairy Tail as Mest, he was a triple agent WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING IT
