finally managing to make it to the quad after about five minutes (which according to kyungmin time was an eternity), you finally spot your friend at the very spot he stated he was. he sat crisscrossed with his chin rested on one of his hands, textbooks sprawled on the grass. you speed walk towards him, careful not to make too much noise.
“hi, kyungmin,” you greet him, snaking your arms around his shoulders to hug him from behind. you feel a small jolt from his long frame, before he instantly relaxes upon realizing it’s you.
“y/n, what a relief,” he sighs while leaning his back into you, soon shifting to turn around and wrap his arms around your torso.
“I see you’re that excited to see me,” you say, taken aback by his embrace but still having your arms around him nonetheless.

“okay, poor sap,” you smack a hand into his shoulder, then sliding yourself to sit opposite of kyungmin and his mess of textbooks. “just show me what you’re dealing with and I’ll try my hardest.”

“what?” you’re intrigued by his next words, him dragging them out.
“I don’t really…” he still hesitates, before he’s finally admitting it. “know how to use a hair tie.”
“you grew your hair and you don’t know how to work a teeny elastic…” you can’t believe what you’re hearing.
“I don’t need you shaming me!” he’s locks down into defense mode quickly.
“alright, alright,” you backpedal, deciding not to tease him today. “but at least let me help you.”
“yay,” he says straight faced. perhaps admitting he’s bad at something aside from his econ class brings him shame.
“give me the hair tie,” you demand, hand outstretched doing grabby motions.
“it’s on my arm,” he says, extending his right arm out to you. somehow, you didn’t even notice he had something attached to it.
“okay. one day I’ll probably use hyunwoo or yejun’s head as an example to actually show you how to use it, but for now I’ll just do it for you,” you say, dragging your friends into it as you remove the tie from his arm.
“y/n… you’re my lifesaver. what would I do without you?” he says with a pouty expression, you swear you see his eyes start to glaze over.
“I thought we’d already established you’d be dead,” you reply, dragging yourself to be positioned directly behind him.
“we did, didn’t we?” he nods.
“dork,” you can’t help but chuckle a little. but back to the task at hand. “do you want it in like, a low pony or half up?”
“I think half up is fine,” he answers surely.

“is it fine?” he asks, eager to see the result of your hard work.

“of course!” you examine him fully, looking at every detail of his hair and face. but clearly more his features, and not the obvious cherry he turned into. “it suits you too, your bangs frame your face so nicely but you can hardly tell when your hair’s just down.”
“maybe I really do need to learn how to use a hair tie then,” he says in a chuckle, looking away from you now.

Kwak Dawit had quite the reputation at the sports centre where you both trained.
Since you had been going there to practise rhythm gymnastics ever since you had been really young, you had seen the boy from time to time. He had come in for gymnastics for a while, then he had done table tennis, then badminton, but the latter two had been at different parts of the institution, not in the main hall where you practised rhythm gymnastics.
On the other hand, ever since he had joined the high jump team, you had been seeing him all the time because over the years, your training schedules frequently overlapped each other’s or mirrored the other’s, leading to more and more chances to see each other around. At first, you merely greeted each other, but after a while, he started dropping comments about your practice performances (how ‘jaw-dropping’ and ‘astonishing’ they were in his words), and it didn’t seem like a coincidence that he started coming earlier or leave later just to catch a sight of your practices (and you). The boy stared at you immensely while you were practising, and it might have seemed intimidating if you hadn’t gotten to know him better.
The truth is, as much of a genius athlete as he was (succeeding in everything he tried his hands at), he was so goofy and silly outside of practices. He also had this giant training bag that he brought with himself, and half of it was occupied by various snacks he bought. Dawit was always munching on something or suggesting to eat together when your training schedules overlapped, and you finished at the same time. You would never question his intentions though because he was the sweetest boy you had ever met, and it was striking how different he was when he was doing sports and when he was off the mat, casually eating with you at the corner store.
However, just as much as everyone praised him and his physical abilities, Dawit felt the weight of it all, and it didn’t just prompt him to do better, it prompted him to do more than he should have. He frequently strained himself and got injuries which held him back from training as usual. It was heartbreaking how he was the first person to tell you to rest when you were struggling with practices and your body was clearly screaming for a break, but he wouldn’t be able to do the same for himself.
No wonder he was quite under the weather when he threw out his back and couldn’t practise for days. You kept in touch outside of practices too, and while you inquired how he was doing, he was always curt with his responses, asking about your side instead. When he eventually came back to practice, he was quite discouraged by the fact that he couldn’t push himself as much as he wanted, so seeing his usual bubbly self buried under his disappointment, you wanted to cheer him up. You suggested eating out, and even though he said he wasn’t hungry (which never happened, Dawit was always hungry), he decided to accompany you.
You were serious about trying to cheer him up, so apart from picking out something for yourself, you picked up his favourite spicy noodles and prepared that in his favourite way before taking a seat beside the boy by the corner store’s window and digging into your own food.
“Eat up! It’s on me today,” you prompted him with a smile as you reached for your chopsticks. The boy stared at the cheesy, spicy noodles (with some corn thrown in there because he died for this combination) for a few seconds before his gaze landed on you.
“You prepared it just how I like doing it,” he stated matter-of-factly, but there was a hint of surprise in his voice. As if he hadn’t told you enough times just how much he liked this combination and suggested for you to try it out yourself.
“I’m a good observer,” you shrugged nevertheless because it was true that you were good at memorising his favourite things because you actually wanted to remember them.
You didn’t know when it had started, but you had grown fond of this boy over the years, and now you were crushing on him pretty intensively. You were looking for his messages all the time, you were looking forward to seeing him at the sports centre each and every time you had practice, you frequently sent over recommendations of food places you think he would like, videos you thought would make him laugh and songs that you thought fit him. When you realised that it wasn’t just about wanting to make him happy, but wanting him to be happy because of you, you knew that you were a lost case. You had fallen into him, and there was no way out. How could you not like him though? He was the most considerate, polite and sweetest person you had ever met, and he put the bar too high for other boys to make you feel even remotely close to how he did so.
On the other hand, it never seemed like the right time to confess to him, and the boy had not done so, so you weren’t even sure that he liked you like that. Obviously, you wouldn’t even ask him about it right then and there when he was moping over his injury, and didn’t even feel like eating.
Nevertheless, Dawit did end up eating all of his noodles, and he became somewhat talkative over the food, so you were relieved that you got him out of his rut - even if it was just for this one night.
As you started rising from the table, you realised that you forgot to buy drinks, so you ran through the store once more and bought two bottles of Dawit’s favourite fizzy drink. When you put the drink on the table in front of him, he looked up at you, and you looked back, smiling gently.
“What is it? Were you stalking me all this time?” He quirked an eyebrow, puzzled, but there was a teasing edge to his words, so you knew that he wasn’t being serious about it. However, you weren’t that sure about what he continued with. “Or do you perhaps… do you like me?”
Your brain shut down for a moment, and you felt your knees buckling slightly. Your heart was thumping wildly against your ribcage, and it felt like a cacophony in your ears with how loud your heartbeat was. You opened your mouth to say something, only to realise that you were unable to mutter a word until a few more seconds passed by in silence.
“Wait, what… I… I…” You stumbled upon your words, and it was just even more of a reason for the boy to push forward with his justification.
“Yeah, you’re in love with me. You should be. Not even my mother knows this combination of mine, there’s no other explanation for it,” he broke it down to you, and you were sure that your face said it all. Your lips parted upon his words, your face resembling a tomato’s, but even despite everything, the boy looked at you patiently, gently, as if he had already made peace with this, and he was ready to hear about your side.
“Well,” you cleared your throat awkwardly before continuing. “It’s true that I don’t dislike you…”
“So you like me,” Dawit pointed it out, and his lips were curled upwards. He found it amusing, and you couldn’t tell whether it was because of that or because you felt like you couldn’t embarrass yourself any further, but you did blurt out eventually:
“Yes, I like you, Kwak Dawit. I’ve been doing so for quite some time.”
Once it was out, you felt like a huge weight had been lifted off your chest. The feeling heightened when the boy smiled that gentle, sweet smile of his with one side of his lips propped up more than the other, and he tilted his head slightly, somewhat endeared.
“Good. Because I like you, too,” he confessed without hesitation as he reached out to ruffle your hair, and oh boy, you had never thought that you would hear these words roll off his tongue at the corner store you frequented, and this realisation dawning on the boy upon your choice of food for him, but you wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Love: I believe that he is in a type of fling that isn’t official for now because he also doesn’t truly know his feelings for the person. They see each other, and they spend time with each other, either dating or intimately but as far as it goes, it doesn’t seem very official nor serious.
Career: there are a lot of delays that Wish has to deal with and every time EPEX works on something, their schedules are delayed which generates tensions and potential conflicts with the members that he has to deal with.
Self: Wish’s mind seems to be wandering, aimlessly and without concrete goals. I feel like he has been doing it all to be an idol and at the moment he doesn’t have any goals or doesn’t want anything but what the company is giving them or making them believe they need.

Love: when it comes to love, Keum is very overwhelmed. He is the type of person who receives a lot of confessions from both idols and people working in the industry and although it makes him happy, he also gets easily overwhelmed by it. Keum has strong personal values and he wants someone who shares those, and for now, he hasn’t found anything in the genre. Also, he is more focused on his work than dating.
Career: Keum has been given an opportunity for a solo project/endorsement but he hasn’t accepted it yet because he doesn’t know how to deal with it. He feels privileged compared to his teammates and because of that, he has been avoiding making any decision and allowing his sponsor to do it for himself.
Self: He is someone clear, someone with a straight mind and he doesn’t suffer from any type of mental illness or confusion. Keum is someone who uses his mind and acts according to his values.
MU
Love: I have everything here to believe that MU is in a relationship with someone who works In the industry but isn’t an idol at the moment. They are someone probably older than him but also way wealthier than him in every aspect. For now, this person has been offering him security financially and supporting him in his career.
Career: He is slightly stuck when it comes to his career, it seems like there’s something happening behind the scenes that doesn’t allow him to fully express himself. MU would like to have more creative choices and he also doesn’t like the image his company gave him.
Self: He has been trying to find courage in his heart to set some boundaries with people around him. He has been working on being more resilient and also being a stronger person since he feels like he is too soft and lacks In life
A-Min
Love: This boy is clearly in a relationship, I don’t know whom, but they have been together for quite some time now. Their relationship started through social media, talking through messages until it became more serious. He is happy and for now, the couple is okay and stable.
Career: I see huge arguments happening here, around Amin in particular (and other members). There was a lot of disagreement when it comes to group positions, opportunities, etc. fights and tensions happening way too easily.
Self: He has been a little bit moody lately (probably due to the conflict happening with one of the members/the company). His feelings are all over the place, he gets easily aggressive and jealous of people around him and he wants to do things that just don’t make sense to others.
Baekseung
Love: He is actively searching for love, so he is single yet wanting to be in a relationship and trying to find someone that will meet his standards and what he is seeking. Baekseung for now hasn’t any crush or any person in mind, he is just talking with people and trying to see if he finds the one.
Career: he is looking at all the challenges he and his teammates are living as a team and it makes him feel a little bit too depressed and overwhelmed. Baekseung is someone who has a competitive nature, but some of his other members are too and they often fight for a better position.
Self: The fact that he is trying so hard to find love, is because he suffered from a breakup a few weeks ago and he just wants to erase the pain he feels by putting someone else on his heart (which isn’t a good idea, but he believes it will heal him).
Ayden
Love: He has gotten into a relationship very recently, this whole energy is new and hasn’t fully bloomed yet. I don’t know who is his person, but I don’t think he wants people around him to know about his relationship either, he wants to keep it quite and under the radar.
Career: I see that he had a lot of arguments with his teammates but also a lot of deceptions. There were things that were said and done that left Ayden very hurt and he even feels betrayed by the whole thing. Tension is palpable.
Self: He is feeling food, is very prudent, and also strong. His feminine energy is huge at the moment, meaning he has been trusting his intuition a lot and has been listening to his heart instead of his reason which helped him find peace within himself.
Yewang
Love: Single and not looking for anyone, since Yewang was rejected by someone a few days ago and he is still dealing with the hurt of the rejection. He is a little bit disputed of his failure but it shall pass with time.
Career: I have a feeling that Yewang has been feeling very lazy, doesn’t like to go with the members practicing, he gets late, he procrastinates his job a lot and just feels unmotivated to do his schedules. Those behaviors might have also put pressure on the other members and generate tensions and arguments;
Self: Yewang has been working a lot on himself, on his past traumas and he has been learning about forgiving those who did him wrong so he can grow up from the experience and move on instead of dwelling on wounds and hurt that wasn’t serving him well.
Jeff
Love: I don’t think he is dating anyone, but I do believe that there’s someone around him who is manipulating him through affection. Like not dating but the person trying to be nice and they are planting their seed on him to manipulate him
Career: Jeff is really ambitious when it comes to his career, and he wants to be better and to make EPEX be better but the tensions in the group and the fact that he is too young haven’t allowed him to express his needs and ambitions to the group
Self: he isn’t in the best place mentally and physically. Jeff is someone who deals with a lot of issues either on a psychological level or even physically and he is trying to find balance here but it is not easy for him.
