Berserk Reunion Fancomic: Remembrance  (WIP)

This was months of hard work and research - I’m excited to share it with you!!!!

The draft is done and so are my nerves. This comic gave me a couple of sleepless nights and it still needs inking and polish. However, the pages and dialog are all planned out and final!

Now let me go on a rambling spree for a bit...

This comic is very huge for me because this is my first comic ever. it is also a major milestone for me because before starting this, I was in a huge art hiatus that lasted a couple of years. I improved so much just doing this.

The Fancomic’s Premise

The premise of this comic is reunion and healing: the cherry tree (as symbol of short-livedness and fragility of life), the season (spring) are all hints towards this, in my opinion. Whether Miura actually takes this direction too, we will see in just a few days...

This was both a challenge and a labor of love. I started this shortly after chapter 355 came out and it was meant to explore a realistic scenario of Guts and Casca's reunion. That being said, it was also meant to be a "visual prediction" (which is why I want to share it with you before the actual chapter drops).

References & Research

For this comic, I analyzed Guts and Casca’s relationship during the Golden Age here and here, trying to make it as in-character and canon as possible. I also attempted to imitate Miura’s way of poetic and emotional story telling and also reverse engineer his planning and drawing techniques. There are TONS of references in this as a result. In some spots, the visuals or dialog are extremely familiar to certain key scenes in the manga (apart from the obvious flashbacks). If you notice some of these references, don't hesitate to share - I feel like there are more references than I am aware of.

Remembrance Part 2

I have a second part in the works too (here a sample scene), but whether I keep working on that depends on whether that new chapter motivates or demotives me lmao
