elijah is the eldest son of the mei family. which really only says that he spent a big part of his childhood alone. he understood the reasons behind his parents absence: there were not rich by any means and they wanted to provide for him, to give him what they may have not been able to get when they were kids themselves. but sometimes they didn’t realize that all he wanted was for them to be around more often.
still, he never really resented them. being too understanding is perhaps his fatal flaw. despite missing them greatly he often reminded himself that it was for his own good. they only had his best interest at heart. so instead of moping around, waiting for them to come back home until the late hours of the night ( like he might have done when he was a toddler ) he’d spend his time watching movies, reading, doing anything that would let his imagination run wild. a good mystery thriller always being his favorite genre; it’d allow his mind to explore any possibility and hopefully figure out the case before it was even revealed.
he learned to be independent early on. he was never one to ask his parents for more than what he actually needed, since he didn't want to make their finantial burden even bigger. instead, he'd often take on small jobs around the neighbourhood. walk dogs, take care of them, run errands. small things that would mean he'd have an allowance so he could use it as he pleased ( usually rent new movies or buy new books).
slowly but surely the rest of his siblings came. the family was even bigger now and if their parents were once mainly absent, with three more mouths to feed they were now nowhere to be found. it's not like they wanted to be away from them for so long they just had to if they wanted to get through the days. that was how in an attempt to ease their worries even slightly elijah became their main caretaker.
there were many things he had no idea how to deal with. but he likes to think he did the best that he could given the circumstances. and while it was probably one of the hardest things he’s ever done, considering he was barely a teenager himself; he can also say with all honesty all of his siblings made his day so much brighter even if there were certainly days where he just wanted to pull his hair out because of them.
from them on elijah’s life focused on taking care of his siblings, getting good grades at school, trying to get as many part time jobs as possible so his siblings could get some of the things they wanted like he had done during his own childhood. his life revolved them and trying to help his parents that he really didn’t have much time to actually enjoy being around his friends, or anything as a normal teenager would. not that he really minded too much, if they needeed him then he’d be there for them. it was as easy as that.
after graduating high school with high honors he tried to postpone going to college as much as possible. after all, he knew that even without him in the mei household, there would still be three persons to take care of and their parents still needed to work to make ends meet so the responsibility of taking care of the younger would inevitably fall onto gianna and he truly wanted her to be able to live her life without having to worry about everyone else.
after a few years of only looking after his siblings, an opportunity he couldn’t pass on came; and even though he didn’t want to he knew it’d be stupid not to take it. and so, he had to leave for college, leaving his family behind, but not before promising that even if he couldn’t come back he’d do everything he can to at least help his household along the way.
he’s always been reliable and extremely smart so college wasn’t one of the biggest challenges he’s had. he knew that things would be significantly easier if he also had the finantial help everyone else seemed to had. and that he was already at a disadvantage since he wasn’t born into wealth; but he also knew there were other ways to climb the social ladder, one of them being: making the Right connections.
while maintaining his high grades in criminal justice, he made sure to befriend the right people that would guarantee the right amount of exposure to get far in life. that of course didn’t mean he became a stuck up man; he tried to be friendly to everyone but there were some that he kept closer for his own reasons. that’s how, despite not being wealthy he’d always be included/invited to high end events.. and how in the long run he became a socialité.
after college, becoming part of the law enforcement system seemed like the right step. he’d always dreamed about becoming a detective and putting his peculiar mind to good use, it didn’t take too long. after all, it had been his calling since he was very young. and soon enough, he finally got the bank account to match the reputation he made for himself, and he's been keeping his promise of helping his parents with his younger siblings ever since.
he came to seattle two years ago for job related things.
currently, extremely happily married to nadia kingsley. and he’d describe her as the love of his life whether you ask him or not.

greetings lovebugs! i’m kai, and i’m beyond excited to bring the beautiful & incredibly strong bean ( that deserved so much better 2kforever ) leah clearwater! under the cut i have some headcanons along with some deviations from canon, because again, i can’t stress enough how much i loathe the whole ❝ leah clearwater is a nasty, bitter harpy ❞ narrative. but yes! if you’d like to plot or chat or anything please, please feel free to hit me up here or on discord! i’m open for all the things and can’t wait to write with all of you!
deviations from canon :
was born to harry and annette clearwater. however, one day, when leah was seven years old, her mother, without warning or care for anyone but herself, just up and left her and her father and never came home. this left leah to taste the first stings of heartbroken abandonment at too young of an age.
for a while afterwards, it was just leah and harry on the reservation, and although hard, she learned to accept that as her new normal. her father meant the world to her, and just having him was more than enough for her.
a few years later, however, harry fell in love with and married his second wife, sue, whom – although rather difficult at first – leah eventually came to accept and truly care for as a mother-figure.
not long after, when leah was ten years old, her little brother seth was born -- finally completing their family.
the beginning catalyst of anger for leah shifting for the first time was not the argument with sue, but instead, sam leaving her and subsequently finding out about him and her cousin emily. it was the abandonment and betrayal from her childhood coming back full force ( and in some ways, so much worse ), and it was far too much to take. the altercation with her step-mother was just the final straw in everything else that’d been festering to the point it exploded.
it was possible for leah to leave sam’s pack ( because if she could ditch the uley pack for jacob’s without an issue, who’s to say she can’t just leave on her own if she wants? ) so she did. and she did try to be a part of the uley pack at first, but being able to hear sam’s incessant thoughts about emily was too much for her along with everything else she was going through. it also didn’t help that the pack could hear every single one of her thoughts as well.
so, currently, leah is packless ( though i am def open to that changing! )
leah DID NOT go out of her way to bring up painful shit for the other pack members while she was there. she cares about all of those guys ( maybe in different ways, but she does care ) and would never do anything THAT cruel.
she phased when she was 24 years old and still looks forever 24 even though she’s really 29.
headcanons :
don’t ever mess with seth. period. you’ll die. point, blank, period. her little brother means the absolute world to her – she admires and loves him so dang much – and there’s nothing she wouldn’t do for him.
feels immense pain and guilt for her father’s death, even though it wasn’t at all her fault. she just doesn’t see it that way; if only she’d controlled her anger better, if only she was stronger, if only she wasn’t so different. if only, if only, if only . . .
takes boxing and yoga classes to help with her anger and phasing.
is *nsync vc: bi, bi, biiiiiii.
feels like a complete outsider most of the time – not knowing why she’s the only female shifter, and what that means.
on that note, she’s trying to do as much research as she can on the side to try and figure it all out and understand.
in love with 80’s rock – you can always see her with ripped shirts of various bands, high-waisted shorts, and flannels ( safest for phasing ).
loves tattoos and has quite a few of them ( actual pictures of tattoos and their meanings to come later ).
has a huge freaking heart under all her guards and walls. she’s just been hurt so much in the past that she doesn’t let many people in unless you PROVE to her that you’re true and won’t leave. but once you’re in? you have a loyal friend until the very end.
is still the fastest wolf, and can and will race if asked.
definitely more of the type to think with her heart than her head in heated moments, and is impulsive as hell ( which usually gets her into trouble ).
works two jobs at a small, but popular bookstore in seattle and as a bartender while she goes at her own pace in getting a masters degree in literature.
very, very weary and distrustful of vampires, though she does acknowledge that there are some decent ones out there.
curses like an absolute sailor.
possible connections :
*none of these are gender specific!
close friend / confidant : leah doesn’t let a lot of people into her inner-circle, so this would be someone that means a whole lot to her – someone she confides in and trusts with her whole heart.
current or past hookups / flings / fwb : though she’s afraid to commit to a relationship after what happened with sam, she’s not one to shy away from hookups and the like. i think it’d be interesting to explore her having this with someone, and how the dynamic is ( would totally be up for like: you drive me nuts, but god the sex is so good, so we’ll just fuck our frustrations out on each other at night and snark at each other during the day, or even just a sweet mutual thing – i’m not picky at all ).
imprint : of course, the big one! leah’s convinced she’s never going to imprint ( or even be happy ) so i’d love for this person to come along and completely knock her off her feet. i just want my girl to have the love she deserves, pleaseeeeee.
and also would love, coworkers, unlikely friendships, enemies, etc. i’m open to all the things, tbh!

section one of three : bullet point history trigger warnings for talk of murder
sidney was born here in seattle, washington. her mother was BEATRICE KHAN, a fairly well known name in the publishing world ( though she never released any of her own countless numbers of novels ), absolutely unrelenting when it came to cutting her clients a good deal. her father was julian knox, a one time american football player who PEAKED in college and turned to writing romance novels after a career ending injury forced him to confront that he wasn’t much qualified for anything else. the family unit that they created was full of love and ever nurturing - perfect, from the inside to the out.
they were the quintessential all american family, where it COUNTED. parents that were sickeningly in love. two kids, with the perfect age difference between them. they lived in a house in the suburbs with a picket fence ( that was actually stained brown, not white ) and a perfect lawn, where the cat they had in place of a dog due to julian’s allergies would lounge, day after day. even the neighbours figured they were perfect ; the kind of thing with with all smiles, to their faces, and muttered darkly in the privacy of their own suburban homes. beatrice would go to work from eight to five, every day. julian would stay home. he got the kids their breakfast, he got them on a bus. he would go inside and write and break up the day with gardening or do it yourself projects, attending community meetings, fulfilling his pta role - and then his kids would come home, and dinner would be on the table in time for his wife’s return. perfect. clockwork.
sidney loved it, personally. she had no desire to act out. no need to break the mold, so to speak. she never felt as if she were stifled, or that her parents were pushing their own ambitions onto her. if anything, the thing that was most shocking about her early life was that she actually ENJOYED it. school could be challenging, in it’s own way - she was diagnosed with dyslexia young, but it took a few more years for them to pinpoint her adhd - but she got all the help that she could have dreamt of needing. she was allowed, if not encouraged, to try every whim that came to mind. they were, after all, within a privileged position enough to ALLOW it. piano lessons for two years, the violin for five. she attempted gymnastics and managed to break her wrist just two lessons in - never bothered to try another more physical activity, after that, but she had a healthy appreciation for watching sports, just like dad. her home life was excellent. her school life was just fine. she was a BRIGHT and curious soul, and she had aspirations for the kind of college that should she have attended, her mother could have lived VICARIOUSLY through her. she was extremely lucky to like her parents, and to appreciate the life that they had given her for all that it was.
she shouldn’t have to look back on these earlier years with sadness, and yet, life simply doesn’t work the way that it SHOULD. the week before the murders, she never could have presumed what was going to happen, though she was plagued by nightmares - something that she attributed to the horror movie marathon she had just completed or the milk drank before bed, and not to anything legitimate. she dreamt of hooded figures and serrated knives and a screaming that never stopped ringing in her ears, even after she awoke in a cold sweat and struggled to fall back asleep. she would struggle from the tangle of bedsheets with the urge to wash her hands, compulsively ; as if she were trying to get non-existent blood out from beneath her fingernails. she was fifteen years old, and she googled things like ‘can my period give me nightmares?’ and ‘is the milk before bed thing legit’, but she had NO REASON to fear the images that slipped away, as night turned into day.
it seems cruel, in it’s own way, that the night which changed the course of sidney’s life for good is one she spent completely unaware. she was staying at her girlfriends house - a sleepover planned for almost a MONTH - and the next morning, when the police came to pick her up, she had been in the midst of eating breakfast with the affectionately named ‘in laws’ and trying to swallow back a persistent feeling of unease. she was lucky that she was waiting for a lift back to her house - she was luckier, still, that a nosy neighbour had noticed her mother’s car hadn’t left for work, yet, and popped around to check in on them. if they hadn’t, and if she had gotten the early morning bus as planned, then sidney would have had to live with image of her bloodied parents until the day she DIED, too.
her mom and dad were gone. this was the gut punch, number one. number two was that her sibling - her should have been legal guardian - was under arrest. the MURDER weapon ( a phrase she had only ever heard on tv, and could never have guessed would be said in regards to her life ) had been found wrapped in one of their jackets and thrown in a dumpster outside. they had been picked up a block away, and in interrogation, their alibi didn’t stand up. it was a rather cut & dry case, and suddenly, everyone in the neighbourhood - what felt like the whole world, back then - was doing their level best to pick sidney’s picture perfect life apart. people who had once only ever had good things to say now talked about late night arguments between mom and dad. said that they had never trusted the look of her sibling, not even when they were a kid. said there was something not right about them - and that they couldn’t be sure sidney wasn’t the same. the circumstantial evidence piled against the only member of family that sid had left, and there was nothing that could be done. she was put into the system a mere week after the murders, and everything moved quickly on. she talked to a handful of reporters, but for the most part, people out in the world didn’t care for the story. it wasn’t anything too SPECIAL, she supposed.
too many stories talk of foster care becoming a sort of hell for the children stuck in it. for sidney, however, her foster home was her only salvation from the world outside her door. the one thing that she could rely on, even as she went through the most momentous changes. her first week back at school, the staring was almost painful. the whispers were worse. sidney requested she be moved, and in the process, she allowed herself be cut off from her old life - the friends she had, the partner she had loved. she started somewhere new, and she was... different, now. stranger. sidney’s way of dealing with all that had happened was to cling to things that had once only been a special interest - UNSOLVED crimes, sensationalist stories, horror movies and the supernatural. she spent a lot of time in her room, and she spent even more indulging in these new interests. the people at her new school figured that she was weird, and that assumption only got worse when they discovered what had happened to her parents. whispers of her being like her MURDEROUS sibling were somehow worse than anything else that had ever been said, but she took it, for the most part, on the chin. she couldn’t explain her sudden draw to the macabre, even less than she could explain why everything in her life had fallen apart. frankly.... it didn’t matter. she simply was.
sidney’s foster family supported her, right up until she turned eighteen, and even after. she sacrificed the dream of an ivy league school for something more achievable, beginning to attend a seattle local college after graduation and majoring in film, finding among those students - OLDER and more mature, of course, than high school kids - something she had started to forget was possible. her job as a film store clerk didn’t exactly help her rake in the cash, but once she started selling movie reviews to online publications, sidney was able to save up some money and buy professional equipment - beginning her podcast in late 2018. she doesn’t tend to talk about what happened. she doesn’t tend to think about her SIBLING. she’s got a life, now, and it’s not exactly the one she ever expected to be living - but it is her own, and that’s really all that she can hope for.
section two of three : headcanons
sidney dealt with her grief by… hyper fixating on a special interest she had always sort of had, and becoming quite the little movie buff. horror movies, more than anything, but people didn’t react very well when she went off on a tangent over wes craven’s talent, so she broadened her horizons a little. she enjoys film, maybe moreso than she should. all that led her to other special interests, and now she’s dabbled in just about everything that a woman can.
her podcast deals, of course, with unsolved mysteries. this usually takes the form of unsolved CRIMES, but... she believes in ghosts and aliens, and she throws an episode in every now and then that deals with them. she’s very open about this side gig, solely because she hopes that someday, it’ll be what she does for a living - and because there’s no point in attempting to hide something that’s such a huge part of her life, even if people do tend to... not enjoy her being so into these things, as the daughter of two murder victims.
her older sibling was acquitted of the crime - eventually. sidney still doesn’t enjoy thinking about them or it, per say, but when the news reached her, she did begin to... hyper fixate, once again, and begin to obsess over what the TRUTH was. she has cork theory board dedicated solely to her parents - and more recently has added another one, dedicated to what’s happening in seattle. she’s not gifted, or in the know, but she’s certainly not an idiot.
has a pet rat named church ( which is a fairly ironic reference to the cat in pet sematary ), and he’s NOT her first. she’s owned several since she was put into care, and they’ve always been something of an emotional support for her.
while i align sidney more with ‘conspiracy theories’ and ‘true crime’ than i do ghosts and ghouls, i will admit that i tend to push a lot of spooky cliche’s onto her, because i like having a character who’s very IN TOUCH and into that season, in particular. promise i’m trying to control the impulses.
always has on at least five necklaces and eight rings, and never has any less than ten bracelets. her style would be hard to define, but the amount of cheap jewelry is FAIRLY indicative.

sidney knox-khan, our maya hawke is looking for their older sibling who resembles finn cole, tiera skovbye, dacre montgomery / up to player and should be 23+. applicants do not have to contact rachel to talk over details before applying. ( pls allow me preface with the fact that i wld be happy for her sibling to be half / adopted / fostered either, and they don’t necessarily have to be named after a horror character like sid was - though the latter is a fun lil thing abt the family, so i would love if u went that route too ! sid and her sib have had. a rough life. and by that i mean, they had an entirely perfect life up until the sib was aged 18 - when they were arrested for the murder of their well to do parents. it’s all explained more clearly within sid’s intro, and basically… the evidence was circumstantial and flimsy. it probably would have made sense they spend SOME time behind bars, but it’s also possible they didn’t - though sid was put into care for the remainder of her teens, so may not know they were ever released ! the two very distinct routes this could go in are …. sid being suspicious of them and feeling as if they must of done it, because who else could have, or alternatively - sid being open to the idea of them not, because nothing about the case ever sat right w her. we could talk more abt it, but i feel like it’s one of those connects i just. wld love to have ! )
sidney knox-khan, our maya hawke is looking for their foster family ( parents, siblings, etc ) who resemble ariela barer, iman meskini, madchen amick, santiago segura, herman tommeraas, bradley cooper / up to player and should be any age. applicants do not have to contact rachel to talk over details before applying. ( sid never took their name, so first up - that’s a detail open to applicants ! basically. there’s a mother, a father, and their merry band of foster kids - probably… four… five? a nice amount. none of them have to be like one another. none of them have to fit a specific role. this is the family that took sidney in after her parents were murdered, and the fact of the matter is - there are a LOT of stories in which foster care became a hell for the protagonist, but that’s not sid’s story. she was ostracized in school. she had lost her only blood relations. her foster home became a safe haven, and the people within it became as close as could be to her. we stan one supportive household who still hold her whole heart, to this day. )
sidney knox-khan, our maya hawke is looking for their close friends ( max. four ) who resemble virginia gardner, justice smith, sydney park / up to player and should be 21+. applicants do not have to contact rachel to talk over details before applying. ( sid didn’t have ANY friends until she got to college, due completely to how #weird people began to find her. she eventually found her squad, but they’re basically. like every good horror movie group. her equivalent would be rany meeks from scream 1996, or noah foster from scream tv. she fits their archetype, but i wouldn’t say that the group MUST comprise of likeminded people. in fact, it’s more fun if they don’t. they’re not a group of jocks or cheerleaders or popular kids, but they are a sort of breakfast club. a merry band of b-listers who grouped together and have remained together for a real long time. )
sidney knox-khan, our maya hawke is looking for their ex poly ship who resemble up to player and should be 21+. applicants do not have to contact rachel to talk over details before applying. ( sidney made a bunch of… not entirely excellent choices, in the yrs following her parents deaths. that isn’t to say she acted out, or that she did anything that was too out of character for her. she really didn’t - but she did become a much more WEIRD version of who she had always been, and people pushed her away because of it. when others came along that seemed to be able tolerate who she had become, she clung to them - to almost extreme degrees. the relationship was a whirlwind if ever there was one, and perhaps wasn’t ‘true love’. maybe not even close. but they did seem to work right up until when they didn’t - and the end was quite messy, by all standards. sid did a good job of ending relationships on friendly terms, but this didn’t - all details aside from these are open for discussion ! )

Before the Change
*I feel like Seth is also a pretty well known character, but let’s recap anyway
born in la push
lived there most of his life
loving family, mom, dad, and sister Leah
as a child he was always happy, optimistic, and kind
that continued on as he got older
he followed Jacob and Embry around like a lost puppy dog, just wanting them to be his friend
he looked up them a lot, thought of them as brothers
Seth also looks up to Sam more than anyone else
he went through some withdraws when each of the previous pack members went through their transformations because he didn’t quite know what was going on
After the Change
last of the current pack to change
so excited when it happened, but also very confused
still followed everyone like a lost puppy, but this time he made sure to do everything everyone said
he followed the alpha without question
and if he ever messed up he would go home and cry, feeling like he failed everyone
Seth never wants to disappoint anyone
he desperately wants to help everyone, sometimes at the expense of his own safety
he’s honestly just such a god boy and just wants everyone to be happy and safe
Seattle, WA
moved here six months ago to be with his pack
he absolutely loves it here except for the vamp situation
also he’s really sad that he hasn’t imprinted on anyone yet

click here for gianna’s pinterest ! and here for musings !
gianna mei was born and raised in tacoma, washington with her 3 other siblings. they were the definition of a lower-middle class family, living in a small, two bedroom apartment. the mei’s always sort of skated by.
her parents weren’t around much-- not because they didn’t want to be, but because they were busting their backs so they could skate by. her older brother took on the role of being the primary caretaker until he moved out, and then that role sort of shifted onto her.
she loves her family dearly, but always had the highest amount of admiration for her grandmother who lived an hour away in seattle. gianna found herself spending many of her weekends in there, taking her around on her errands.
after high school she enrolled at the university of washington and took a few classes at their tacoma campus, working as an ambassador for the school. the spring of her sophomore year, she opted to study abroad in florence.
gianna loved being abroad. she loved being in a place that was so wildly different than the place she called home. she enjoyed learning the history and meeting new people. she got the knack of handling herself as she went around-- knew all the pro-tips and the in and outs n what not. she felt safe until she wasn’t.
supposedly, somewhere along the way she befriended ( or thought she did ) someone who she didn’t know was an informant for the volturi-- a group she didn’t know existed, up until this trip. the idea of the supernatural existing was all but lost on her. for reasons unknown to gianna, she was something of value to the volturi.
she became aware of all this later, after she was taken by the volturi. enter edward masen -- the vampire tasked with turning gianna. even through her own panic she could still see in his red eyes it was something he did not particularly want to do. she wasn’t sure if it was her own words that ultimately saved her -- she made sure to tell her whole life story, that she had family at home that depended on her return, but he spared her. she was told to forget what had transpired, as if that was possible.
she tried acting like everything was fine. she didn’t feel she could open up this can of worms to anyone. didn’t feel as though she could take off running, yet, either, which greatly conflicted with edward’s pleading for her to get out of europe. but then an opportunity presented itself, in the most heartbreaking of ways. her grandmother started developing dementia, and couldn’t quite care for herself the way she once could.
there was no room for her grandmother to move in with them in tacoma, and they couldn’t afford to put her in a nursing home. it seemed like a no brainer that gianna would go and care for her. seattle was big. she felt she was ultimately forgettable, and could blend in among a crowd. it should be safe. it was far from italy. far from the vampires-- or so she thought!!!!!!
she’s been living in seattle for a little over a year now, and transferred to u washington’s campus there. to say she doesn’t have a life would be an understatement. while she had plenty of friends in tacoma, the same didn’t translate to her new home. she didn’t have time. she works full-time at the library as an assistant librarian, and takes two classes asemester. when she’s not there, she’s caring for her grandmother. a chick is always tired !!
gianna has not. fully come to terms with essentially being kidnapped by the volturi. heck, she hasn’t even kind of come to terms with it. she easily shuts it from her memory, but the backlash from it has manifested itself in many ways. she’s restless at night in the worst sort of way - she often can’t sleep or when she does it’s nothing akin to being peaceful. she’ll usually save her homework or studying for them, maybe read, anything to distract from what her head probably wants to go to. the bags under her eyes are usually written off by people pretty quickly. . . because who in college actually has a good sleep schedule ? usually the lack of sleep is because of a bountiful social life but. . . people don’t need to know that. she over works herself for the same sort of reason.
she doesn’t mind crowds after everything, which is surprising, but she DOES mind being touched when she can’t anticipate it. think someone moving through a crowd, and someone moving through behind her rests a hand on her shoulder or waist to move her out of the way. such an action would fill her body with DREAD, quickly.
some info about her just !! personality wise, she’s really, really patient. exceptionally so. gianna’s also pretty self-sacrificing, but not to the point where she’s a door-mat. she can be a firecracker when she knows people are trying to take advantage of her, or when someone simply needs to be put into her place. not really naive at all, at least, not on the level that she used to be. she’s a bit more skeptical of the world around her.
gianna does have a gift, which is why she was wanted by the volturi. she has ability augmentation. an ability that, unless she encounters someone else that’s gifted, has never affected her at all.
i am v excited to be here and always down to plot, so pls lmk if you wanna plot w this bean !! i am essentially. always down for anything. so if gianna fits a plot you particularly want, i’d be happy to throw her at u !!
⧼ I NEED TO BE YOUTHFULLY FELT, BECAUSE GOD, I NEVER FELT YOUNG. ⧽
⧼ gregg sulkin, nonbinary, he/him & they/them / arsonist’s lullaby , hozier + the ruffle of papers by a window you SWORE you had shut a moment prior ; the soft shiver down your spine from a lover’s aching gaze & the anger that sits in your hollowed out bones, space made for feelings your body can barely house. ⧽ ━━ don’t look now, but that’s jakub carlebach. the twenty-six year old child of the moon has been here in seattle for three months, and is a considered to be a nomad. they’ve always been devoted & observant, but i guess this town just brings out the worst in people ; apparently, they’ve been way more easily-manipulated & stubborn than usual. it wouldn’t surprise me if they knew what was going on.
CHILD RAISED IN LOVING ARMS ; his life was that of sun & study , of temple & family . of full stomachs and gifting of the excess , of a mother’s smile and a twin’s reassurance . his heart screamed with the promise of love --- eighteen and living in new york , summers where he pledged his soul and body to fling after fling & with each bittersweet parting , came a crack that was only healed after another took their place . destined to be lonely after twenty six aching years ; bitten and bruised and called towards the moon ... in the arms of another summer time lover and spring time fling --- longer than most , despite his disappearances , things that would make sense in an evening alone with a bite so deep he thought his body was divvied up into parts .
their dinner was still upon the table , cooked and preened by one who gave soul in all actions --- though now , hours later , congealed and cold and a display of waste that resonated all too deeply within the newborn follower of the moon’s aching heart . he tried to move ... with no luck . body still mending , skin regenerating , bones knitting themselves solid with a power coursing through , but his eyes still worked , his neck mostly all weaved back together again ... though his voice did not . and so jakub watched , as his lover - deceiver began to pack his treasures , his belongings , and leave without a word and with his innards painted upon his clothes .
the beauty of work was the ability to love it . the ability to help those in a desperation he now was acutely familiar with ... and how always , there would be need for one of his skill no matter where one lived . seattle had cried out help , and jakub had heard --- and had selfishly placed all hope into finding purpose within it’s streets , moon-tide pulled & all the more attuned to his heart and those cracks he could no longer heal with youthful indulgence in the sun’s light.

━━ don’t look now, but that’s allison ‘allie’ beckett. the 21 year old human has been here in seattle for three years, and is a nursing student. they’ve always been effulgent & optimistic, but i guess this town just brings out the worst in people ; apparently, they’ve been way more naive & emotional than usual. it wouldn’t surprise me if they knew what was going on.
hi, hi i’m so excited to bring allie here, she’s...so dumb but so smart and she means well. you can find her pinterest here and her bio here. this vine describes her best.
oh, give this a like if you want to PLOT, i’ve got some wanted connections here or we can brainstorm, i bet we can come up with something stupid. anyway, here goes.
here’s some quick facts if you can’t be bothered to read my bio because i did ramble.
when i originally created allie, she was modeled after the “pristine” label so – she’s a good church girl, she doesn’t really drink, she doesn’t curse, and while she’s very smart, she doesn’t really pick up on any innuendos. it’s sort of comical how innocent she is about that shit.
but she is very intelligent, she’s a nursing student at Washington U and works night shifts at the hospital for school credit
she grew up in forks most of her life and went to forks high school.
she honestly never really felt like she fit in anywhere because she was too straight-laced to fit in with the popular kids and with her parents’ impending divorce, she was starting to doubt her religion and therefore didn’t really fit in with the church kids. she’s always been sort of a misfit.
her brother died about five-ish years ago in a mysterious animal attack. that sparked her interest in the fact that something is OFF about washington and it became sort of her obsession for a while. (allie’s brother brian is another old character of mine and i can’t believe i really killed him off for this plotline lmao)
when she came to college, the disappearance of a friend got her started again and she’s still looking for cracks in the system. everything’s connected and she hopes to some day figure out what really happened to her brother.
⧼ naomi scott, female, she / her / living in color by frightened rabbit + the faint scent of ink, almost perfume - like in it’s softness, has seeped into your skin. you carry it with you wherever you go ; bright lights, speeding cars, the press of a crowd on every side. you ought to be lost in it. instead— you thrive ; a battered old car, the black paint faded to something blue. if you knew what was good for you, you’d trade it in. ⧽ ━━ don’t look now, but that’s DIANA PATEL. the TWENTY SIX year old HUMAN has been here in seattle for SIX YEARS, and is a COMIC BOOK ARTIST. they’ve always been EXPRESSIVE & SANGUINE, but i guess this town just brings out the worst in people ; apparently, they’ve been way more FICKLE & NEUROTIC than usual. it wouldn’t surprise me if they knew what was going on.
NAME. diana jane patel. translation: heavenly. a flattering thought, but her parents were off the mark. there’s nothing divine in how selfish she can be, nothing angelic about her temper. if there’s a hell out there, diana is destined for it. called di by those who look upon her with affection, of which there are not many. she’s become far too used to hearing her name as a curse, ‘ diana jane, ’ falling from her mother’s lips in a hiss. she’s fine with it. why wouldn’t she be?
AGE. at twenty six years old, diana is on top of the world. ( but remember, that just means there’s a long, long way to fall. ) too long she has spent stumbling, trying to get her feet under her. at long last, she’s got life figured out. she loves her job, adores her friends, has a boyfriend she’d lay down her life for. what could possibly go wrong?
FAMILY. the first of two children of nadia and james patel, and dealt with all the pressure of being the eldest sibling. you have an example to set, her mother would tell her, and diana had to fight the urge to scream. from the very beginning, diana has been destined for something great. to be a lawyer, a doctor, an architect. her father looks upon her grades ( low as and high bs, nothing to sniff at ) with a tsk, and she finds that she can’t breathe.
CHILDHOOD. she grows up in portland, with a white picket fence and flowers in the front yard. she and her brother spend their first few years playing soccer in the front yard, racing each other home from school. summers are spent in forks, building sandcastles quickly destroyed by a windy beach. it seems like an idyllic life, like everything a spirited little girl could want. she doesn’t know why she isn’t happy. as her brother heads in, diana stays in the sand--- doodling in a sketchbook and dreaming of something more.
SCHOOL. it feels like all diana ever does is try, but it’s too much, all at once. responsibilities and expectations keep piling up, and she doesn’t know what to do. her brother, her best friend--- they both finish medical school. diana drops out of it. she watches as the ones she once called peers pass her by, as her mother can’t look her in the eye. diana tries not to sob.
WORK. it’s on a whim that she picks up drawing again, and she’s good. it shocks her, but she doesn’t know why. when she tries school again -- art, this time -- it's hard, but this time she doesn’t buckle under the weight. she graduates in one year instead of two, accepts a job drawing for the same comics she’d once loved. it’s not the life she imagined, but it’s a good one.
PRESENT. for the past six years, diana has lived in seattle. for the past four, she’s known of the supernatural. she deals as best as she can. gets coffee with her friends and makes sure they don’t linger in alleways, takes ubers home from work instead of braving the subways. i’m being paranoid, she thinks, but she doesn’t stop.
