How Peter Lorre Played 'Beat the Clock' With a Chippie
I am back with the full magazine article and I still need to know what is going on here because IT MADE ME BLUSH, Y'ALL, and @peterlorrelove had cautioned that this is from a scandal rag and those get maybe the spelling of a person's name right and little else, but
But
From "Confidential" magazine, Vol 4, No 6, January 1957:
"How Peter Lorre Played 'Beat the Clock' With a Chippie," by James L. Boyd.
"The cameras would burn to a crisp if they ever photographed Peter's brand of amusement."
Erf. So would I.
And they really did mean call girl after all! There goes my half-baked idea that this was a game show with a glamour gal.
HOWEVER: Peter wouldn't need to pay anybody to be with him, so Mr. James L Boyd should have picked on some other chump for his pastiche.
All the same...
WHO IS THIS MONTANA FLOOZIE? 😁
Outside of all that, it's a fun read, wonderfully and delicately salacious, and "two full hours with Lorre" has me all verklempt. **fans self**
I wonder what he thought of it, if he saw it?
