I wanted to explain exactly how the Commendation stuff will work in 3.0 as I know I still had some questions I was unsure of on the stream. Here is the basic layout of what will happen in 3.0.
Planetary and Classic Commendations no longer exist. All current Planetary and Classic Commendations will become Basic.
All Elite and Ultimate Commendations that you have will become Basic Commendations. Elite and Ultimate Commendations still exist but you will need to earn them anew in 3.0.
What to do for a week of double XP in SWTOR
Double XP week for Star Wars: The Old Republic started this morning, but many people still don't know the best way to take advantage of that bonus.
Community Manager Eric Musco once posted that with the double XP bonus, 200% is the new base for XP, and that any bonuses are multiplied on top of that. For instance, a guild bonus of 10% is essentially a 20% boost from the standard base XP. His post stated that if you were to stack all the boosts that you would end up with a 310% bonus overall.
Assuming the calculations are correct, and they seem to be plausible to me, what is the best way to take advantage of that XP boost?
Normally, I would tell you to follow my guide on Massively, but this time, you might be better served by leveling up through the Kuat Drive Yards instance. Of course, the downfall will be that you will never ever want to do that instance again, and you will have to rely on PUGs unless you have three other victims friends who are willing to tear their eyeballs out with you.
I still think doing the planetary quest leveling is more beneficial over all, but it's probably only second fastest now.
