Made my femShep last night bc I was tired of waiting for the dumb update to load my current playthrough and I’m just . . . really pleased with how she came out.
Mass Effect Drabble Pt.4
Open. Close. Open. Close.
Shepard still isn’t used to her prosthetic hand. She moves each finger slowly, precisely, staring at them with a sense of detachment. Holding both hands out flat, she studies the differences. Motorised joints, metallic casing, and multicoloured wiring on the right. Bruised knuckles, scars dividing the skin, an uncontrollable tremor on the left.
“You’re clear to leave, Shepard.” Miranda watches as she quickly clenches her hand and hides it from view.
“And go where? London was a ruin the last time I saw it.” Shepard says coldy. Miranda slowly reaches over and puts her hand on Shepard’s shoulder.
“You’ve been in here for twelve weeks. A lot of temporary infrastructure has been going up, and repairs on the more important buildings.” Miranda offers a quick explanation of the events of the last three months.
“Well whoop-de-do.” A smirk appears on her face. Wobbling slightly, Shepard lets Miranda guide her through the maze of halls to the main door of the hospital. Giving her a nod of thanks, she limps towards the door, shoving it open with her shoulder despite Miranda objecting in the background.
And Garrus is there, waiting for her.
(Part 3)
A thought, brought on by thinking about Nell's plants: do all of your Sheps like model ships? Do any of them collect something else? 👀
🤔 Until tonight, I hadn't thought too hard about it, but let's see...
Eris - Oleg's talked her into *trying* the ship thing. She is skeptical. Collections, though, are just a thing to get attached to and she doesn't do that anymore, so she's *really* skeptical.
Inara - Would like to interrogate someone at Cerberus to find out whose idea those display cases are and why they exist on a frigate. If she finds an interesting pebble on a world she hasn't visited before, she grabs it. Her collection was lost with the SR-1 and she's dismissive of starting again, but she keeps an eye out anyway (will deny it if asked).
(In the mountains, she discovers wildflowers and starts pressing them out of the sheer novelty of flowers.)
Amelia - Began collecting model ships as a kid--starting with models of the ships her parents were assigned to. And then to Anderson's and Hackett's ships and so on. Her collection was put into storage when she was assigned to the SR-1 and she's a little unnerved about how the Illusive Man knew.
Penny - Kids who lost everything when slavers attacked their colony don't collect things. After the war, Kaidan tries to talk her into collecting *something*, anything. She's home now.
Shepard Codex: Eris Shepard
#2 -- A tabloid article for @raeofalbion
COMMANDER SHEPARD: SAVIOR OR KILLER? Ryuusei's Sushi Bar was attacked this evening in a shocking turn of events, raising important questions about the character of the woman leading the charge against the Reapers. Commander Shepard was involved with the destruction of the restaurant's aquarium, destroying upwards of 100 precious fish. It has come to this journalist's attention that Commander Shepard is known for killing her own fish! It clear to this one that the Commander has a vendetta against fish, calling into question her ability to represent the entire galaxy in this war. We must ask ourselves the hard question: can a woman known for killing fish and destroying notable aquariums truly fulfill the requirements of her role?
