Storytime:
So my roommate and I were standing around with her family, trying to figure out what we were doing next for the day, when we realized we were in the way of a large group of people who were trying to get their picture taken.
My roommate goes, "Oh my gosh, we're in the way of their picture, we should move!" and I apologized to them for ruining their picture by being in the frame.
This girl in the group, without any sort of hesitation, goes, "It's okay, you guys are pretty! You weren't ruining it at all!"
Like, that was such a simple yet kind thing to say in reponse to us. The girl probably doesn't even remember saying it, but I don't think I'll ever forget how nice she was and how good her little comment made me feel inside.
Moral of the story, I want to be able to have my automatic response to uncomfy situations with strangers be on this level of kindness.
