So I have seem do fake Sams titles so I thought of doing some for my ocs and aus and tell you what I think would happen in each And the story's around them. I will not being doing one for Roseanne and Patricia why cause I have not finished there stories yet but I do have a idea for how they will go

I can see the episode being about sun going into the graves of Jamie Jackie James and huey and given them flowers or something as he says how sorry he is for what he did and how he he could take back what he did and save there lives. And just before the episode ends it shows Jackie standing by a few trees hearing the whole thing feeling shocked and decided to find the truth of this one way or another

Sun REUNITES with JACKIE in VRCHAT

It would start with sun in a dream with Jackie in it and immediately asking for sun's side of July 16th the full honest truth of what happened. Sun then explains that blood moon took over his body and that's what caused this. After confirming its true Jackie then comforts a then crying sun saying it was not his fault. Once sun is calmed down he decided to since he can affect his dream by showing him a image that calms him down when he is upset. He makes it have a fantasy like World with birds and dragons not thinking it would make sun happy but he did what he knew that would make him feel better. It worked and it would end with Jackie hugging sun saying how much while tears how much he missed him

Paying The Price

Earlier this semester we discussed the arrival of DSLs—Digital Shelf Labels. They’re also called ESLs—Electronic Shelf Labels. Either way, they give the retailer the ability to set prices either from an in-store office, or farther up the food chain at corporate offices.

These handy little devices are cheap, and since they are internet-connected, make setting prices easy from any location, freeing up labor to attend to other less mundane tasks. They aren’t exactly new, because I have seen them in use at Kohl’s stores for many years. But like the QR code among consumers, adoption by retailers has been slow.

Until now. Walmart recently announced they would deploy them in all of their stores this year, no small task when you consider there are more than 4600 Walmarts across the US. Walmart argues that DSLs allow them not only to set prices as needed, something that happens frequently when there is inflation, but also assist in restocking and online order fulfillment.

It’s just that the reception by consumer groups and consumers in general, not to mention state and federal politicians, has been lukewarm at best, and chilling in many cases. The negative reactions have caused the industry to go into defensive mode, trying to make their case that DSLs are not bad. The chief concern is that DSLs could be used to exploit surge pricing, which translates to jacking up prices when demand is peaking.

While the industry is not presently trying to convince consumers of their efficacy, they are trying to demonstrate that the labels will help retailers deal with labor shortages. That’s probably the best approach, because I doubt anyone is going to convince shoppers that DSLs will actually benefit them, even if it needs to be voiced. About the only shelf labeling that has benefited me is the price per ounce, or price per unit. Otherwise, like everyone else, I have felt the sting of inflation and watched the prices on my frequently purchased items go up and up regardless of how the price is posted on the shelf.

It is going to be a hard sell. While I doubt that state and federal politicians could ever craft legislation that would ban them entirely, they could establish guard rails so high that they could be crippling. This is great fodder for politicians trying to establish themselves as actually caring about voters instead of wealthy donors. I can see them falling all over themselves to jump on this topic because of the upside potential for them, even if they do not understand how this works. It is low-hanging fruit, especially with mid-term elections looming.

So what’s an industry to do? To my students, this could be you one day in your chosen professional paths, trying to advance our digital life into ever more applications. Well, until there is push back, and you find yourself having to expend a lot of unanticipated effort into defending your actions.

At a time when the general vibe is one of distrust, the industry has a very hard sell in front of it. They won’t have any problem convincing retailers to hop on board, because there are multiple benefits for them to do so. But for us? Nothing. Nada. Zip. And if you don’t trust anyone, from Big Retail to Big Pharma to Big Anything, it doesn’t matter.

Even though any words coming from the Food Industry Association may fall on either skeptical or deaf ears, they need to be saying things anyway. And what they should be saying is a code of ethics that association members must abide by in order to remain affiliated. In other words, the FIA must figure out how to be self-policing to the extent that retailers will not abuse DSLs, or else risk corporate reputation, sanctions, etc.

This necessarily places a burden on the association to be able to police its members, but it could also rely on crowd-sourced evidence to help streamline matters. By positioning itself as not just retail-centric, but also consumer-centric, it might help build consumer confidence in the industry at large.

The average consumer is completely unaware of the razor-thin margins that grocery retailers deal with on a daily basis. I realize that consumers are going to have a hard time believing this, especially after the recent round of inflation, and now possibly even more because of rising fuel costs. Consumers are mad, and they will take it out anywhere they can.

As I said before, the typical margin is surprisingly low. When I was doing my dissertation in the late-80s, my contact in the grocery industry said margins were typically 20-22%. Google AI says it falls into the 20-30% range today, with some categories fetching higher margins, and some pathetically low. Overall, net margins are only 1-3%, thanks to high operating costs, such as labor, rent, and spoilage. Were it not for high-volume inventory turnover, the grocery business would be a fool’s errand.

And here we are with a digital product that can help all businesses address labor issues. Instead, it has been flipped and turned into a weapon against consumers. Sometimes you just can’t win for losing.Put that in your cart and think about it.

Leveling the Playing Field for Athletes of All Sexual Orientations: A Conversation with Patrick Burke, You Can Play Project

Penn Law Entertainment & Sports Law Society, Lambda, and JLASC present Patrick Burke, founder of the You Can Play Project. He will speak on his organization’s efforts to eradicate homophobia and ignorance about sexual orientation in sports. You Can Play is an official partner of the National Hockey League, among many other major professional sports teams and collegiate athletic programs.  Place: Gittis 2  Time: 12:30-1:30pm  LUNCH WILL BE SERVED 

About Patrick Burke and the You Can Play Project  Patrick Burke is a 2006 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and a 2013 graduate of New England Law Boston. Patrick has spent seven years working as a scout for the Philadelphia Flyers. Burke’s hockey lineage includes his father, Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke, and his late younger brother, Brendan, who was an openly gay member of the Miami University hockey team.  Patrick co-founded the You Can Play Project in honor of his late brother Brendan Burke, a devoted hockey player who came out as openly gay while serving as a student manager of the Miami University hockey team. By writing and speaking openly about his experiences as a young, gay athlete, Brendan served as an inspiration to LGBT youth, and a great example of inclusiveness. A warm and genuine person with a glow about him and a strong sense of justice, Brendan was tragically killed in a car accident in 2010.  In only a year of existence, the You Can Play Project to combat homophobia in sports has spearheaded historic changes in both the culture and the rules of professional sports leagues and universities. Among other efforts, the group is releasing PSAs featuring professional athletes affirming the message that LGBT athletes around the world should be afforded equal opportunity and judged only for their talent, character and work ethic in their sport. You Can Play also announced a formal partnership with the National Hockey League, which is meant to secure a more inclusive community, devoid of casual homophobic language in locker rooms and on the ice, at all levels of hockey.  Patrick has been nationally recognized for his work as a straight ally and hopes that through the You Can Play Project, teams, players, media and fans will join in the effort to promote an inclusive environment in sports.
