Lighthouse Highschool AU - Riley
Welcome to my piece of the highschool AU. Which is really just me smooshing all the silly Rook's together (I think I only have 17 I am not as ambitious as @davrinsleftpectoral and @blackwall-my-tiny-husband). But thank you two for the idea and using my baby. Now it's my turn to finally get Riley and Amara together for Day 5: Battlefield
Riley knew this was a bad idea. Luckily most of his best friends were down for bad ideas as Gladius helped him unload the last of what they would need from the bed of his truck. “You sure about this?” his friend asked as he patted Riley on the shoulder in a supportive way. “I mean the worst she can say is no,” he replied hesitantly before Zalan popped his head out of the passenger window. “Pretty sure the worst that can happen is her dad kills you!” the Crow teased as Riley rolled his eyes. “Not everyone has a crazy dad like you,” he frowned. Though the threat was real. Amara's parents were scientists after all. “Don't be such a boob,” warned Harding as she walked up to the group. Of course she would be here to support her best friend Riley. “Look we got this part Beefcake. Go get your girl.” “Yep. Neve has it all planned. And I brought the muscle.” Turvi flexed as if to prove his point while Xiqaa stood beside him. Neve just chuckled and rolled her eyes at Turvi, though she did seem to enjoy the show. “It will be perfect, Riley,” assured Jericho as he stood nearby with his arm wrapped around Elek. “We will have it all set up and be gone by the time you get back.” “And I will make sure it's pretty,” giggled Lilya with Ilene and Cara at her side. “I don't know,” called Cyri in her singsong voice with Ayanne nodding behind her. “Coadi and Qatesh are already down there setting up. And you know how much trouble those two can get in. Though hopefully Veryl is keeping them in check.” That seemed to get everyone moving. The group heading off to see the damage done at the park where they were planning the surprise. Though Riley made sure to tap Esha and Rose on the shoulder to get them to hang back so he could have a word. “What's up?” asked Rose as he leaned against his truck. Rubbing the back of his head with nervousness before he let out a sigh. “Do you think this is a good idea?” He looked between both girls as he awaited an answer. Neither sure what to say at first before Esha cleared her throat and replied. “I mean the surprise could probably use more flowers but-” “Not that,” he groaned as he rubbed the bridge of his nose before adding. “I mean asking her out. Amara is the smartest. Prettiest. Kindest girl I have ever met. And I'm an idiot.” Esha looked at Rose who thankfully stepped forward. Hand on her hip as she fixed him with her sharp gaze. “Well my mom always says she knew my dad was the right one because he was a complete fool around her. So you probably are an idiot, Riley Mercar. And that's a good thing.” He chuckled at her as he shook his head. Rose giving him a nod of solidarity as Esha tacked on, “So get in that truck. Drive to her house. And play her the song we talked about. Because love is a battlefield!” “Alright. Thanks guys.” He grabbed them both and wrapped them in a hug. Before turning to each and pecking them with a kiss of gratitude on top of the head. “There. One last kiss before Beefcake isn't single anymore.” “You're never single. That's the problem.” Teased Asha with a roll of her eyes before he released them and walked off to his driver's door. Typing Amara's GPS in his phone as he headed towards their future.
