FFXIV - Little Gameplay Help III
To Esuna or not to Esuna, That is the question
In the Amazing game of Final Fantasy XIV we have numerous skills which can allow us to remove a detrimental effect under specific circumstances.
What are the skills which can dispel a detrimental effect .
Esuna: Removes a single detrimental effect from target. Available for White Mages, Scholars and Astrologians at lv20.
The Warden's Paean: Removes one select detrimental effect from a target party member or pet. If the target is not enfeebled, a barrier is created nullifying the target's next detrimental effect suffered. Available for Bards at lv58.
Erase: Removes a single damage over time (DOT) effect from target party member other than self. Available for Black Mages, Summoners and Red Mages at lv48.
How to know what detrimental effect can be dispelled ?
Not many people seem to be aware of it, but there is a way to know if a debuff can be dispelled or not.
This detrimental effect can be removed by Esuna, Warden’s Paean and Erase: • There is a white line on top of the debuff which means that the detrimental effect can be dispelled. • You can only dispel it on a Party Member if you’re using Warden’s Paean or Erase. • This debuff is a DOT (Damage Over Time) which explains why Erase will work in this specific case.
This detrimental effect can be removed by Esuna and Warden’s Paean: • There is a white line on top of the debuff which means that the detrimental effect can be dispelled. • You can only dispel it on a Party Member if you’re using Warden’s Paean. • This debuff is NOT a DOT (Damage Over Time) which explains why Erase will not work in this specific case.
This detrimental effect cannot be removed: • There is NO white line on top of the debuff which means that the detrimental effect cannot be dispelled with Esuna.
This guide is very small but I thought that it could be useful to some people in order to stop losing time to try to see if a debuff can be dispelled or not.

Esuna?
Esuna is a recurring spell in FF series, which removes most status ailments when cast on a character.
Its name is derived from the first kana of Eikyū (Eternal), Sutētasu (Status) and Naoshi (Cure).
Note: Kana are syllabic Japanese scripts

Cryas Chronicles Characters
Since I got that fancy new logo for my OC mythos, I feel it is time for me to talk a bit about it. More specifically, some of the characters!
So, the thing with Cryas Chronicles is that since it is my OC mythos, some things are bound to change, and more characters will be added. At the very least, I'll introduce characters that so far play a big role in the first story. First story you say? Yeah, I so far in mind have two main stories in the mythos, though the second is still in need of a lot more work and thought. The first story is so far known as 'Cryas Chronicles: Vicissitude Journey'. The best way to summarize the first story is a road-trip between best friends that eventually becomes a race against the clock to prevent a natural, global catastrophe. Fun stuff.😎
With that said here are the main protagonists of the story:
Auron Compallado (Male, Age 20, Umbrian)
Nym Elapimae (Female, Age 19, Umbrian)
Esuna Sanadora (Female, Age 49, Umbrian)
Taylor Tigrise (Female, Age 14, Illumin)
Remaru Crisofil Arcana (Male, Age 53, Umbrian)
Valkyrie Aren (Female, Age 30, Illumin)
Dalibor Viacido (Male, Age 32, Illumin)
Ulric Zorrosune (Male, Age 16, Illumin)
Norocier (Female, Age 543, Corrian) (Credit: @masterartlocked)
Zembaairos Chaarland (Male, Age 1998, Jrukoshn)
Apologies for the wildly different forms of art of each character. As of right now, the only art of a character I have personally drawn that is their official design is Nym. Auron, need to maybe be updated with a few small things. Norocier is one I need to get off my tush to draw her updated look, which is why I used a commission my friend Nicole made to show her. Everyone else needs to be heavily updated in some way, shape and form of varying degrees. Beyond that, yeah! Here they all are. 😁✌️
I HAVE SPENT A MONTH ON THIS I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND TO ALL A THIS WAS 24 CHARACTERS AND IM EXHAUSTED
Esuna Amano | 天野 絵砂
Esuna Amano is a 14 year old (17 in Shippuden) kunoichi from Sunagakure and is on Team Ashikase. A bit snooty and judgmental, very quickly struck up a rivalry with her future teammate Zera Unmei. Due to her attitude, she doesn't tend to have many friends, which is a bit of a sour point for her. Her biggest goal is to surpass Zera, however, neither of them pass the chunin exam when they end up competing. In the time Zera was gone training with her father, Esuna spent her time training and ultimately became a chunin, something she gloated about when Zera dropped by Sunagakure, unaware Zera was still grieving massively over her father. In an uncharacteristic move, she apologizes to her rival when she finds out that her father had died, showing she's also matured somewhat personality-wise too. Her birthday is May 7th, her blood type is AB-, and her height is 5'0 (pre-timeskip)/5'3 (Shippuden).
