Jay actually posting his actual thoughts, but please let your art be "bad." Please let yourself make art that you don't believe is up to par with your peers or other artists. Please let yourself write "poorly," please let yourself draw "poorly," make crafts "poorly," do projects "poorly." Remember the two cakes. Remember that you are and always will be your biggest critic and nobody else is going to pick apart what you create more than you will. You need to start before you can improve and the first step is letting yourself create things you won't like in a couple of months. But then in a couple of years you're going to look back on that same art that you thought was bad and be fond of it in a weird way because you let yourself do that and that's the only reason you're at the spot you are now. I fucking hate my old writing but it is a staple. My friends like it. That's why it's never going away. ANOTHER IMPORTANT THOUGHT, FIND FRIENDS WHO LIKE YOUR ART FOREVER AND ALWAYS. HOLD THEM CLOSE!!! BE JOYUS AND WHIMSICAL AND CRINGE AND FREE PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
EUGHLOL'S OFFICIAL "THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE" NON-SPOILER MOVIE REVIEW!
As of about twenty minutes ago, on opening day here in the US, I got to see "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie" in theaters. Upon getting home, I immediately flocked to my computer (because this is too serious and going to be far too lengthy to type up on mobile) and hopped on Tumblr to give my extremely biased, but also honest to the best of my ability, non-spoiler review.
My credentials: Super Mario has been my favorite thing since before I could talk or walk, and thank god I learned how to do both of those things, or else this post would have never existed. Also, I am the third biggest Super Mario fan, just shy of Shigeru Miyamoto and Charles Martinet themselves respectively. I have a collection which I'm too embarrassed to put a price tag on, and every single person who means anything to me at all knows that I'm "the Mario guy."
EUGHLOL'S NON-SPOILER REVIEW:
Whatever you do, don't listen to the critics. My theater was packed to the brim and it seemed like everyone enjoyed themselves, the kids loved it. I loved it. Their parents seemed to like it enough. Go see it yourself and form your own opinion without letting professionals' opinions of a childrens' movie get under your skin.
VISUALS: Far better than the first film, they really got it on lock now. A lot more is going on on-screen at every given moment, so there is a lot to notice going back two, three, four times, and a lot that I surely missed. It seems more vibrant and colorful, but that might just be because this movie hits a lot of varying locations or, I could be misremembering the first film's color grading. I feel like the characters are a lot more expressive and the animation appears more comfortable and dynamic to the eye.
STORY/PLOTLINE: They were adventurous! A lot of things were made canon to the SMBCU (dubbing this "The Super Mario Bros. Cinematic Universe, because MCU has been long taken) that I think a lot of viewers are not going to expect going in and may feel undecided upon coming out. I believe they handled it pretty well and I urge everybody to remember that just because something is canon to one Super Mario series/media, doesn't make it canon to all Super Mario series'/medias. They tied everything in with the first film very well, but it did feel like a lot of ground may have been covered too quickly, but I understand that they didn't have a lot of time, as kids get restless after an hour and a half, and I suppose we aren't really sure how many more movies are going to be added to the SMBCU. But! I think this film definitely set itself up for a threequel or even a possible SSB or Starfox movie!
REFERENCES: They were a lot more upfront with their references and callbacks, and a lot of them were for the first movie itself, too! A lot of Super Smash Brothers. references were made, which could possibly hint at its own movie, but I'm unsure, considering how much was in this one. Despite people's worry about this, it still is completely a Super Mario film, and the movie explains everything very well. (Very cool segment in the first half!) There were still tons of references to other Mario medias as well. (There is two after credit scenes, so stay until the very end!)
CHARACTERIZATION: They got everyone really good! I loved Bowser's in particular, and Luigi got a lot more moments and tons more screen time. I don't have a whole lot to say about this, risking spoiling the movie and all, but all the characters really felt like themselves while also growing from their roles in the first film.
OVERVIEW: Go see it. Go see it right now. Take your entire family. Take all of your friends. Take your siblings, cousins, neighbors, peers, coworkers, rent the entire theater. It was worth the ten dollar ticket. Will be going again if possible.
Haiiiiii! Think you seem pretty cool!!! :D
HEY MUTUAL, HI MUTUAL, you seem very cool too, we should interact more

Happy Pride Month everybody, time for everyone's favorite Tumblr program, eughlol's post, three days late in the making, wishing everybody a happy Pride Month full of peace, love, joy, whimsy, and remembrance. 🏳️🌈🌈🎉
Remember the golden rule we all learned in kindergarten, "treat others the way you want to be treated." Show outward and expressive love and respect to and for queer people who do not share your identity, whether you are an ally or part of the community. You must be an ally to them just as much as allies that are not part of the community must be to us. Defend them and ensure they have a place to speak at your table. Remember that defending a queer person's right to exist and to persue happiness, along with every single other right they have and deserve, will always be much more important than if you like them as a person or personally understand their identity/labels, EVEN THOUGH THAT'S A VERY IMPORTANT THING TO UNDERSTAND! We need unity within and outside of the community right now, and WE CANNOT BE BLINDED, BROTHERS, WE MUST STAY FOCUSED. 🙏🔥💯
I MAY BE A VERY UNSERIOUS PERSON, AND WANT THIS POST TO BE LIGHT AND CELEBRATORY, BECAUSE WE ALL DESERVE TO BE THAT RIGHT NOW, BUT I AM ALSO SO SERIOUS. THOSE TWO ADJECTIVES CAN COEXIST JUST AS MUCH AS WE CAN. THANK YOU FOR LISTENING IN TO EUGHLOL'S POST, THREE DAYS LATE IN THE MAKING, WISHING EVERYBODY A HAPPY PRIDE MONTH FULL OF PEACE, LOVE, JOY, WHIMSY, AND REMEMBRANCE. 🏳️🌈🌈🎉
