I don't know if this is a common behaviour but I couldn't find it on the net: smaller tree birds like #EurasianTreeSparrow and #ScalyBreastedMunia seen here never bathe in puddles that are muddy, even though water is logged in the same spot as in the image for days. But when an water tank overflows from a neighborhood house, the birds were quick to capitalize on the 5 minute window, where the water kept flowing on the street, as did I on the opportunity to capture this rare moment, as they begin to bathe in the tiny streams flowing through the same puddles. Maybe they prefer flowing water to bathe in, as opposed to stagnant pools, like their wilder counterparts who have the luxury of living on the country side. when we expand our cities, devouring fields and forests, the native life that lived there before us is left homeless and needs to resort to these risky makeshift nests, due to a lack of proper green cover. This nest is quite unstable and can crumble away within days, as the sun grows brighter and any eggs could potentially be killed. This is a squash/pumpkin that some Indian homes hang in their homes, for superstitious removal/repelling "nazar".
