ikari gendo needs to be castrated, force fed the fried pieces of his chopped up dick and balls, put in a pot and simmered until he dies in agony, and then brought back to life and forced through it all over again

so finished neon genesis evangelion (the show only, haven't watched end of evangelion yet) and the impression i'm getting is that gendo succeeded in his human instrumentality project and the entirety of the last two episodes take place in that merged consciousness of humanity that he was trying to achieve. shinji manages to reach that point of self-acceptance ("i can only be myself, i'm happy to be me") within that merged consciousness and the other characters clapping and telling him congratulations are them also existing within that consciousness. yui is there too despite the fact that shinji doesn't seem to remember much about her and the fact that she "died" before gendo completed their plan bc she was the first to be absorbed into the eva and reach that state of being in the collective fusion of humanity. i feel like that's what happened but i'm still quite Confused
