The EVA-01 is the robot ever. Its a top-of-the-notch war machine. Its a bio-mechanical giant clad in armor. It has a cool mouth looking helmet. The helmet opens when its mad and rows of gnawing teeths sprout out. Its armor has a sleek, cool design with awesome shoulderpads. Its armor its one big inhibitor to restrict the Eva's true power. It uses the energy of an entire city and has to be plugged in or it'll go off. Until it eats the 'heart' of an angel and a new one burst from its chest, giving it unlimited power. It requires a pilot who's compatible with it. unless the pilot freaks out or pass out, then it moves on its own and makes its own choices. As machine, it need maintenance and repairs. It can also grow new parts like nobody's business using angels' body parts. It was created to fight these alien 'angels'. it IS a cloned angel. It was made by your mother. IT IS YOUR MOTHER. she died while making it. or she comitted suicide in it and now her soul is trapped in it. It was made by humans. Even humans don't understand, or control, its power. Its an alien 'angel'. its God-made-machine. Its the Devil-made-machine. It's both. It will help an alien god destroy the World. then it will gone rogue and give its (her) son the chance to live in the new world she created for you.

She loves you, Shinji. But not enough to save you from your father. You'll never see her again. You can see her everytime you look up, staring down at you, for all eternity.
