Anime Club

Attention all teen fans of anime! We’re starting a NEW Anime Club that meets every second Saturday of the month. Our first meeting is Saturday September 9 at 1pm in the RPL Community Room. All fans ages 13-18 are invited. We plan on having anime viewings, sharing fanfiction and fan art, cosplay, food, games, and more! Whether you’re a true otaku or a casual fan, you’re invited! Those who come may have the chance to help us choose what anime we’ll watch and what other kind of fun events we will have going forward, so please join us!

September 9 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm in RPL Community Room

Last Event Highlight - Masquerade!

Check out Guest Improv with Brittney Karbowski, Chris Ayres, J. Michael Tatum, Jerry Jewel and, Lisa Ortis, 9:00 pm Saturday in Delaware A-D.

Event Highlight - Formal Ball

Join us Friday evening from 6:30-8:00 pm for the Fantasy Ball! Dress in your best and bring your fancy, ballroom dancing footwork for this dance, music provided by Junko. Afterward, Junko will perform at her own concern, and then you have a small break to change (or not) and head over to the regular dance starting at 10:00 pm!

If you're concerned about your ballroom dance steps, don't miss the earlier panel, Ballroom 101, at 2:00pm in Taft C/D.

Don't miss this year's roast! Roastmaster Chris Ayers and peers will lambaste, crack jokes, and share stories to pay tribute to guest of honor Jerry Jewel. This humorous event is limited to Ages 18+ as things can get a little crazy.

LOVE trivia? Then check out the Ohayocon Game Show! It's trivia mixed with You Don't Know Jack. In other words, irreverently humorous game show of trivia. Qualifying quiz starts at 3:30 Sat, showtime 8 pm. Play or watch, audience may win too.

Always a favorite event, the AMV's! Two ways for you to enjoy this artform:

1) The AMV Contest. Watch and vote on Saturday, see the awards on Sunday.

2) The First Annual (we think) Ohayocon AMV Speed Editing Contest! Come prove your skills. No need to signup, just show up and be ready to vid! Or grab some popcorn and watch. Vidding is a spectator sport. ;)
