2019-08-19: Conquest of Cuteness [53/283]
Everything Burrito 2.0, with help from the Cute King.
This is from my quest to draw a daily piece of pixel art for every episode of Adventure Time. I like the idea that Cute King stayed friends with Finn and Jake, and helped Jake to create a second version of the Everything Burrito to replace the one he buried.
I'm experimenting with style again. This time I limited myself to the NES colour palette (although technically the NES can only display thirteen colours at once and I definitely used more than that).

Food Hacks: Low- Sodium Flour Tortillas!
I 'LOVE' Tortillas with a strange obsession . After a hard days work, nothing would beat going to my favorite restaurant and grabbing a burrito(or admittedly Taco Bell if I was desperate which happened more than I would care to admit ) but in my current state, a burrito can be fairly risky.
A strange thing you learn from this diet is that store bought Tortillas are packed with sodium, and the ones from restaurants tend to not fare any better ( sorry Bell fans) so today , we are delving deep to make our own tortillas , cutting out all the nasty preservatives and as much sodium as possible while still getting the soft, fluffy curves we crave.
This recipe , while simple , does take some time so don't expect these done in a hurry. Also, unless you have a way to measure out each one or a dough mat, they may not come out perfect like you would see in stores and the like. Either way, they will still come out delicious!
---------------------
What You Need :
2 cups of flour 1/4 cup of vegetable shortening 1 teaspoon of sodium free baking powder 1/2 cup of warm water
Saran wrap
an airtight container
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How It's Done
Place flour and baking powder in a bowl and mix well. If you have a blender or food processor, then use this and use your 'pulse' feature to mix. Add in shortening and warm water and continue mixing till you have a dough that is soft, but not wet nor sticky. When done ,wrap your dough to the saran wrap and let it rest for about 45 minutes.
Next, separate your dough into about 10 equal balls. Wrap each one in saran wrap and rest for another 20 minutes or so
After this is done, take your frying pan and , on a medium heat , cook each one , turning them only once. It should only take about 30 seconds for each side , and should be taken off the moment brown spots begin to appear on the second side. Any longer and you risk the chance of them coming out hard.
From here, you can either use them immediately or take some wax paper and cut to to size, placing each tortilla between the paper and in a zip lock bag for later.
Either way you have it, you now have the basis for a mouth-watering dish!
I loved you everything burrito!
