Mucho Burrito Hot Chocolate Brownies

A while ago I tried to recreate these yummy guys at home by following a recipe I found online, but they didn’t turn out quite the same. I ended up tweaking the recipe yesterday and the results were much better! So here it is under the cut if you’re interested.

Ingredients 1/2 cup butter 8 oz milk chocolate 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar 1/4 tsp salt 2 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder 1 3/4 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Process 1. Melt chocolate and butter. Personally I find the easiest way to do this is to melt the butter in a pot on medium low heat, take it off the heat, and once the liquid butter has cooled a little but is still warm, add the chocolate chips. It’s very easy to seize chocolate (especially milk) but don’t worry if you do. Mine seized yesterday and still worked perfectly fine.

2. Combine all other ingredients in a medium sized bowl (no need to mix the dry ingredients first but you can if you like.) Add the butter-chocolate mixture and combine. Spread into an 8x8 metal pan lined with parchment paper coming up the sides.

3. Bake at 325° (if your oven is sensitive like mine, 350° if it’s not) for ~30 minutes. Check on it after the first 15 min, and then again every 5-10 min. When you insert a toothpick, batter will stick to it but it shouldn’t be wet. Let sit in the pan for 10 min before removing.

4. If desired, top with evaporated milk on each separate piece when they’re about to be eaten. But make sure you don’t buy sweetened condensed milk like I did the first time xD it’s the same except sweeter, which doesn’t go as well in my opinion. Evaporated milk is what Mucho Burrito actually uses.

I’ll end up editing this post with pictures next time I make a batch. This one is already gone xD

usamericans! was no one going to tell me that chipotle is just subway for burritos? i thought it was a moderately fancy sit-down place, a mexican applebees! i had to learn myself in the year of our lorde 2025 that it's just a worse mucho burrito? a subpar barburrito? *all* the rice has cilantro (soapy!), you don't get sauteed peppers and onions unless you order veggie, the only toppings are corn and lettuce, and the room has no style!
