Jake and Eve. Any advice for writing their dynamic? Romantically or platonically.
(Claps hands together) YES MY TIME TO SHINE HAS COMEJacob and Eve have a great relationship, platonically or romantically. They are a lot alike in many ways. They both take charge and face threats head on without a second thought. They are both strong pillars for the other to lean against. I think platonically is the easiest way to write them because you don’t have to change anything canon at all (unless changing canon doesn’t bother you). Jacob and Eve in the universe we see have settled from strangers fighting ninjas in a bar to coworkers to friends, settling somewhere in the friends like siblings zone. They work great together because they go about problems in the same way. I mean, every time I think of Jacob and Eve working together they usually did pretty good. Now romantically, I don’t see how Jacob and Eve could be together (without changing past canonical events) in this universe, UNLESS:Flynn dies. Now if you change past canon, there are plenty of opportunities that Jacob and Eve could be a thing. I mean, maybe when Flynn left all those times Eve had enough and broke off the relationship for good, eventually finding herself attracted to Jacob instead? There are a ton of possibilities with changing the smallest canon detail where these two could be together. And let’s not forget the au where Jacob and Eve were actually a thing! It is complete confirmation that if Flynn and the others weren’t in the picture that Jacob/Eve, Histaurdian, Evestone, Jeve, whatever you call them, would be together. I mean, we saw the way alt!librarian!Jacob looked at Eve. She was everything to him, even the other two got on stronger and further in the timeline without Eve, but Jacob didn’t because he was the most affected by her death (ง'̀-‘́)ง me. Ezekiel got on further because he viewed her as a mother and could work past the pain of losing family (I headcanon that he’s lost family before which is why he’s so distant-oops getting carried away that’s for another time) and Cassandra was seriously hardcore and had Lamia after Eve died, helping grow stronger from that loss. But Jacob, he never had a relationship before with someone who knew the real him, and let’s be honest, he likely fell apart when Eve died. It did kinda seem like he was slightly suicidal a bit, highly unbalanced at least, and definitely more destructive.Point is, Jacob and Eve are a relationship I could go on about for days so I hope this rambling helped a bit. Otherwise, you might have to ask specifics cause my brain runs away from me;)Anywho, thanks for dropping by! I’d be happy to chat anytime!
