One of the more inspired elements of the writing in Superman (2025) is how (Minimal Spoilers) -

Gunn decided to grant semi-equal footing to the battles between Lex Luthor & Superman by turning Lex’s side of the fights into a mix of Chess & Fighting Game-Style Combos/Commands using a powerful proxy/avatar.

You truly see how obsessed & smart Luthor is by his hyper-awareness of Superman’s fighting style & counters to all his possible actions. It was all part of the brilliant way Luthor is made to be a convincing threat for Superman - a character that too many people automatically think is perfectly invincible/unstoppable/unchallengable.
