I have finally begun watching season 5, one episode per day, at least I’ll try to
Ladybug knew that with Monarch using so many miraculous, he was bound to get drained.
So when he collapsed, Ladybug was not shocked and didn’t waste any time, immediately striking Monarch’s head with her yo-yo, knocking him unconscious. Normally such a blow would not do this but then, the miraculous have been draining Monarch, and he was so tired. His body welcomed the rest.
“Quick! Take the miraculous!” she cried. “Knock him out if he starts to wake.”
They got some of the miraculous when red lights flashed, distracting them.
“Master Fu?” Ladybug gasped.
Chat Noir looked up at the helicopter. “Let’s go sometime when we can’t be interrupted. Burrow!”
As the duo continued to swipe the miraculous back, eventually they came to the butterfly miraculous.
Monarch detransformed to Gabriel Agreste.
Chat Noir gasped. “No! It can’t be.”
Ladybug swiftly stored the miraculous in her possession back inside her yo-yo. She made a face. “I’m afraid it is.”
“This can’t be right,” Chat Noir grasped at whatever straws he could find. “Gabriel Agreste was akumatized into the Collector.”
Ladybug held up the butterfly miraculous. Nooroo looked sadly at his former master. “It’s true. Once he lost the grimoire, he knew he might become a suspect, so he akumatized himself to throw you off the trail.”
“But why?” Chat gasped, devastated.
Nooroo: to bring back his wife
Chat Noir sank to the ground, in shock.
Ladybug gently laid a hand on his shoulder. “Kitty, you okay?” She eyed Gabriel warily, without the miraculous, his recovery time would be longer.
Chat’s fists trembled. He stood up. “Let’s bring Monarch to justice.”
Gabriel Agreste was formally arrested and brought to trial. As was Nathalie who was suspected of being Mayura.
As Nathalie was terminally ill, she had a relatively lighter sentence. She would be in prison but receive medical care at the same time.
Gabriel had it worse. He was sentenced for life and heavily fined.
It was only thanks to a fund Emelie set up that Adrien would be just fine financially. Though he would have to move to London as Amalie became his guardian. It was just as well. Even with Ladybug defending Adrien, and his class standing by him, Paris eyed the model with suspicion.
Ladybug had a bone to pick with Felix but he was missing.
Amalie did her best to console her nephew as Adrien for over his grief by comforting her in turn.
Emelie’s body was finally buried and given rest.
