Heels were no barrier in keeping the brunette from reaching her husband. Nothing was. She raced through the hallways, ignoring the people who she saw every Sunday when visiting. She knew it was forbidden to run in the hallways but like hell if she gave a damn. Only at his door did she stop, rather abruptly at that. Her labored breath and pounding heart made it hard for her to think. He was going to be so angry... Maybe he would understand. Maybe not. God, could he leave today? The person on the phone told her he had woken days before, but that they couldn’t find her. In other words, her father had interfered.
Tears began to blur her vision and she finally turned the doorknob, entered the room slowly, brown hues instantly falling upon the so called LOVE OF HER LIFE. Her breath hitched and her stomach clenched. God...
The nurses excused themselves and, at first, Olivia simply looked at him with wide eyes. A step was taken forward. And then another. And another. Until she was next to his bed, hovering over him. Her small hand lowered, fingertips grazing the back of his hand.
❛ You’re never this warm anymore.. ❜
Her voice was quiet, cracked under the weight of the emotions rippling though her body. How the fuck was she supposed to catch him up. One of the nurses said she had told him the essential: it had been five years and they had a s o n. Everything else... was up to Olivia.
❛ He looks so much like you. I always knew that, of course, it’s just... looking at you now, .... he really, really looks like you. ❜
Olivia didn’t feel the need to say who it was she was talking about, he would know. But how the hell was she going to casually slip in that had no idea he too had a father, that her father was blackmailing her to get both divorced and married to a man she barely knew? Hot tears finally began to fall along her rosy cheeks.
❛ I missed you so much- NEEDED you so much. ❜
