so this is kinda the opposite of a dating question, but my ex keeps trying to talk to me and text me and be near me an like I want to tell him to screw off but I don't want to hurt his feelings. I just really don't want anything to do with him. advice?
Tell him you are trying your best to move on and his presence isn’t really helping and that you think keeping your distance from each other is what’s best for both of you to be able to get on with your lives in a healthy way! Him hanging on to an ended relationship isn’t healthy for either of you!
Saying 'I hate you' to someone you still love is just you trying to convince yourself that you hate them, even though you know you don't, because loving them hurts so damn bad.

if you’re reading this, please, don’t stay friends with your ex at first. even if at first it feels good. don’t talk to them for at least half the time you dated for before trying again. because the best word i can use to describe the feeling you’ll get if you try to stay with them right after you’ve had your heart torn up is: muddy. everything’s gonna feel muddy. and sick and uncomfortable. and you will be bitter. you will despise them. and it’ll be like trying to dig a rock out of a wound trying to let them go a second time once you realize it can’t work this way. so please. please. do not stay friends with your ex. i know it feels good. i know it feels right. but i promise. it’s for the best.

9 Reasons Why Staying Friends With An Ex Is The Worst Thing You Can Do
If you have ever been in a long term relationship, you probably understand the struggle of breaking up with that person and most likely never seeing them again. Having that person disappear from your life is so hard to accept because that significant other was a huge part of you. You had your Friday night pizza routine, you would stay up late on the phone together watching the same Netflix show and then discussing what happened afterwards, you were close to his family… it’s hard to just leave that stuff behind.
