Stone’s Sanctimonious IPA (Picked up at Excalibur Liquors). A 3 of 4. Another good IPA from Stone -- smells of a nice complex mix of floral, citrus, and earthy hops. Much the same mix in the body with a bit more pine-like character and some nice fruity sweetness in the middle. Very easy-drinking, and finishes clean and not nearly as aggressively bitter as most of Stone’s offerings.

Lost Coast’s Fogcutter Double IPA (Picked up at Excalibur Liquors in La Mesa). A 3 of 4. Mostly citrus and some herbal hop notes in the nose as well as some caramel malt sweetness. Drinks with a ton more fruit and balancing sweetness in the body with a bit of booze creeping through in the finish. A bit of an oily body, and not incredibly aggressive and dry in the finish.

Kern River’s Pumpkin Ale (Picked up at Excalibur Liquors in La Mesa). A 3 of 4. To be clear, this is about five months old, but I couldn’t resist picking it up. Smells of a little bit of toast and some spice and an earthy quality. I can’t tell whether some of the vegetal qualities are from the pumpkin or some background hopping. Quite subtle with the spice notes overall, which is quite nice. Some nice sweetness in the body and finishes clean.
