In your professional opinion! Effects of a yeerk on its Controller's daemon?

. . . you know, I don't think a Yeerk COULD have an effect on their host's daemon. In canon hosts are still conscious and can even fight back while infested, so obviously their conciousnesses/souls are still independent of their Yeerk's. And a daemon, of course, IS your soul. I'm sure some daemons could be manipulated or threatened into silence for one reason or another, but surely not EVERY daemon, so I guess it'd be like the Leerans, the Yeerks wouldn't be able to do a stealth invasion, they'd have to brute force it. And that's assuming they'd even WANT to make hosts out of a species that came with an uncooperative animal sidekick they couldn't be separated from.
