I went to the gym again on Wednesday, November 3rd. I learned not to use their nifty abdominal crunch machine (like swinging while on your knees) as the first thing I do once I arrive. My legs and arms were screaming and it made it difficult to get through the Zombies, Run! 5k training workout I've been working on. I ended up staying less time there than I had planned due to it.
I did finish the second Zombies, Run! 5k training workout for week 1. It's an 8-week program. I have a VIP subscription to the main app and can't wait to use it to train and then complete one of their marathons. But to be honest, I'd be just as content to be able to gain enough strength and stamina to be more active and leave my mostly bed-bound status behind me.
I was so sweaty and hot by the time I was done that I used their available handicap shower. The hook to hang your towel on was missing for that shower, so I scooted a steel stool into the corner of the shower, placed my bag on it, then covered it with my towel. Worked perfectly. Only problem? I forgot that I'd left clean, non-sweaty clothes at home only after getting all wet in the shower.
Which sucked. So I was no longer hot/sweaty . . . but I did stink. *sigh*
I also learned that the hydromassage chair is too painful on my upper back/shoulders. I much prefer the hydromassage bed.
I'm going to go to the gym in possibly a few hours. See if I can handle the early morning. I've been going at night after the kids go to bed. Fewer people. Though it is sort of surprising just how busy it can be late at night.
Side note: listening to The Adventure Zone podcast while exercising tends to get people staring at me if I laugh for seemingly no reason. lol
