really experimented with colours, that are very bright, the "Faded" is in the concept. He's alone, featureless, leaning back and slowing fading like a ghost, he's still got a strong physical presence

Now that we talked about Theo and Dream playing chess, I can imagine this in the Exile arc au… Tommy is sitting nervous and a bit uncomfortable in front of Dream. The chessboard is between them and the stronghold is silent. It’s Tommy’s turn and he moves his only tower closer to Dream’s King, he knows he won’t win and just sighs tiredly. “What’s even the point, man? I suck at this…” Dream only smiles “What are you talking about Tommy? You are amazing.” He grabs his pawn as he looks at Tommy’s stun face. The pawn reaches the end of the board and Dream changes it for a Queen piece.“You may lose sometimes, but you always keep going.” Theo enters the room, his figure tall behind Dream as he looks at Tommy. “You are a fighter Tommy, that’s what makes you amazing.” Dream’s eyes seem stained with poison as he holds the black Queen in front of him.

Sorry, I just wanted to make the symbolism of Dream taking Tommy as a pawn and converting him into a Queen (Theo)

god this is making me want to play chess now, and i’m balls at it

i haven’t played in a very long time, like fucking years long, and back then i was horrible. but the symbolism fits and that is so cool. dream taking tommy as a pawn and converting him into a queen- god that is good. though dream might find converting this tommy into a theo will both be easy and kinda hard.

easy since theo is there as a reference and theo would be helping him, kinda hard for everything else; toby trying to find tommy, whoever toby gains as allies to help, theo being there for tommy who will both like and dislike him for obvious reasons but being attached, etc. etc.

also the way you wrote it?

Ok, ok. This was longer than I thought it would be sorry, but take this as a gift for waking up a little of my creative side. (I haven’t written something decent in months)

Dream set the book on the table in front of him. No info on that one either. He sighs, but he is unable to move thanks to the two people at his sides.

Two. Should he say one instead? Both were Tommy after all. They’re sleeping, Tommy’s back leans in his right shoulder and Theo’s head rests on his left. Dream had things to do, but he couldn’t move right now, or maybe he just didn’t want to.

Theo shifts into a more comfortable position. “He must be exhausted.” Dream thinks. But his orders were clear, “Stay close to Tommy.” even when Dream went out most of the time and Theo wished to follow.

He knew how Tommy could be, loud and annoying, with a mouth that rarely stops talking or joking. But he smiles as he remembers the annoyed face that Theo had when he came back to the stronghold that morning. Tommy wanted a bigger room and he’d destroyed the walls of Theo’s room to expand his. And both of them weren’t pleased when he’d started to laugh at what was left of their fight.

His smile fades. He needs to find that book of enchantments fast.

The egg was starting to reach L'manberg. He doesn’t know what Tubbo is planning but Toby… he was starting to get close. He knows that Technoblade and Philza were close behind. And Bad with Ant were starting to ask about his whereabouts.

His eyes stare at the ceiling of the library as his left hand rests on Theo’s hair and his right arm pulls Tommy closer to him. He wanted to wait, but new plans needed to be made.

You mentioned that Theo and his Dream had moments of boredom, and then I thought of the Exile arc au, because Tommy’s there! Sure he’s still very uneasy at first, but just like in exile, he somehow manages to be his chaotic self. I imagine them having “fun” moments just like Dream and Tommy sometimes had in Logstedshire.
