Megalodon, (Carcharocles megalodon), member of an extinct species of megatooth shark (Otodontidae) that is considered to be the largest shark, as well as the largest fish, that ever lived. Fossils attributed to megalodon have been found dating from the early Miocene Epoch (which began 23.03 million years ago) to the end of the Pliocene Epoch (2.58 million years ago). The word megalodon, a compound of Greek root words, means “giant tooth.”

Odontogriphus

(meaning toothed riddle)

Odontogriphus was a genus of animals from the middle Cambrian period. They were fairly small growing up to 4 inches in length, as their name suggests they looked like a oval with a set of "teeth" a shell and a muscular foot for walking. the presence of the foot and the teeth, which could of been the beginnings of a radula, suggest that this animal was distantly related to mollusks. other scientists suggest that it was more related to annelids like polychaete worms.
