Blood by Blood [9] EXO AU!
Summary: Huáng Jié (黃 杰) is a human turned vampire by a Pureblood. After that incident, she is presumed dead since three days. When she wakes up, she is sucked into a new yet darker world to which she never wanted a part in.
Warnings: Blood, gore, mature content, dark subjects, if you are disturbed by such then do not read this. (Okay, to be honest, it gets darker as the story progresses. There I said it.)
(Note: so, chapter 9 now. If you guys press on the masterlist that I already made for the series, can you tell me if it works for the mobile too? You know, not having to have to open it in web and asking if you want to open it in the app, just only directly going through it in the app easily? Probably not making any sense here. If its not accessible in the app and its more on the web, please tell me then. I’ll try and fix it, even though I don’t know how to)
“Hey.” Jongin shakes Jie gently who had passed out before. She opens her eyes slowly, adjusting to the bright light and seeing Jongins’ figure hovering over her. “Are you okay? Does it hurt?” He asks in concern. Jie is confused. What happened?
“What..what happened?” She asks, her voice raspy and groggy. She sits up, Jongin helps her lean against the wall and sets her gently. “You passed out suddenly. I was worried. I guess you didn’t feed well enough.” He explains and mentions her eyes turning into the pale blue. “I just fed, is it like this that you’ll constantly get hungry?” She asks, annoyed already from the constant hunger and thirst.
“Yeah, as annoying as it is. Unless if you start feeding regularly then it will be under control. But your feeding is irregular, your body is still transitioning and trying to get used to this new diet.” Jongin explains as he bites onto his wrist, letting blood come out and handing it to Jie. “Drink. You’ll need it.”
She takes his wrist and puts her mouth on the wound, drinking away the blood that was dripping on the ground, some of it. After she’s had enough, she pushes his hand away gently, indicating that she’s done. “I’m good, thanks.” She mutters and wipes her mouth.
“Are you sure?” He asks, she nods and looks away from him. Licking the back of her hand after noticing the blood smudges on it. “How long…was I out? Not long enough for them to notice, right?” She asks.
“Oh no, you weren’t out that long. It was only 20 minutes. Usually, this presentation goes almost to 2 hours or 1 so, everyone is still busy eating up inside.” He explains and she looks at him in surprise. “Wow, that’s….I didn’t expect it to that long.” She expresses and looks at the door.
“Can we just…go back inside?” She turns to him, knowing what has happened inside that room. The stench of blood and flesh was going through the door and she could smell it. But she was all in good hands, as she was already fed by Jongin, thanks to him. Jongin gives a her a concerned look. “Are you sure?”
“Alright. But if you want, you can always go out. Just tell me, okay?” He adds in. They both stand up to the door and Jongin opens it gently, trying not to distract the others. Jie follows behind and looks at the environment. Everything is covered in blood splatters but the only difference is that there were only few people feeding on the leftovers on stage, not like before where everybody just jumped in and ripped them apart.
She walks behind with Jongin and stands beside the group. Moving a bit closer to her maker, she nudges him gently, catching his attention.
Did some of you guys feed from them?
I…was hungry….Jongin fed me though…
You could’ve told me before, are you okay now?
Sehun comes back from the feeding, standing beside the pack and cleaning himself up. “Tasty?” Luhan asks. Sehun just nods and goes to take a seat by the sofa where Tao was.
After the long wait, the host comes back with the voice again. “Did you enjoy the feast, ladies and gentlemen?” Everyone gives off a positive answer. “Haha, well then. There’s more of it. Werewolves all around, we never forget about you dear friends. Another twenty young volunteers have offered themselves as well, open up!” Another set of curtains open up and there is a cage again, identical to the previous one. “Now then, as always. Enjoy the feast and let out the beast.” And it began again.
This was more brutal though, all the werewolves transformed and began to rip everything up. The organs were splattered, the blood gushing out, the skin ripped off, the screams were unheard. Ripping off the limbs from the body, eating them. Tearing it in half from the other end. Chunks of flesh fell to the ground. And you could hear the cracking of the bones. The growling. The snarling.
It continued on for about an hour. And Jie didn’t feel anything anymore. She’s accepted it. This is a dark world now. She never thought that it would really exist. She never thought that they would exist. And of course, maybe it was bad luck that she was chosen to be killed instead, to be just turned.
New customs were to be followed now. She is not human anymore. But she could still pretend to be one and go into the world like one. Learn like one and act like one. But in truth, she’s not. She’s one of them now. A bloodlust. And what other people would call them. A monster.
The Red Moon. Still shining through. And the werewolves howl. The birds fly through. The werewolves feasting and growling. She looks up at the chandeliers. The light from the Red Moon reflecting it back.
The smell is strong. The metalic taste and smell of blood is in the air, hustling around. And everyone could smell it. The smell is getting too much for Jie since she’s fed already from Jongins’ blood. She didn’t want to feed again infront of the stage. So, she stealthily slides away from the pack and goes outside of the room, closing the door quietly as she can as she turns around to see the surroundings infront of her.
It’s a living room. But a very large one like in a mansion. And it’s empty. That’s what made it uneasy for her. She hesitates for a while. Thinking what to do here. She lets out a sigh and looks both ways, right and left. There were stairs on both sides leading somewhere. But she knew better to not do so and go up. Curious as she is, curiousity killed the cat.
She leans against the wall and decides to just wait until the smell would go away or until the feast will be done. So much for being hungry again.
The howling of wolves were heard. The Red Moon visible in the sky. Then another smell came in to her nostrils. She sniffs a bit. An all too familiar smell again. Blood. Clicking her tongue, she groans a bit. “Aish, I can’t believe it’s this strong.” She mutters, resting her forehead against the palm of her hand, sighing. The smell still lingers through. And then another one mixed in. Quite familiar one too, a werewolf. Her brows furrows in confusion, standing up from her position and walking towards the stairs to the right. She gulps.
“No, no. I shouldn’t be doing this. I’ll be killed…” she whispers to herself, mentally facepalming at the last sentence. Since she’s already dead anyway, she just came back as a vampire. Or a feeder accidentally. Jie looks at the stairs again, following it through the top. But it’s…..I kinda wanna know what’s…..there……
She walks up the stairs and enters the dark hallways. Thanks to her night vision as an active feeder, it helps her more to be able to adjust to it. Walking past through paintings and doors, the walls decorated with patterns. And she sees a dim light emitting from an open door ahead of her. But she stops in her tracks, hearing noises from there. Her heightened senses come into sights and from a few doors away, she could hear them.
“It won’t hurt…I promise….jagi….”
Her eyes widens. Taking a step back, she gulps and tries to be careful to not knock anything over on the way. Why the hell do they not close the fucking door?!
She runs back to the entrance of where she was before, trying to block her mind from the previous noises that she heard from that opened door. Jie sits in the same spot and position as she was before and tries to forget about it, hoping that it wouldn’t come back when the members would see her or talk to her.
The horrified expression stayed on her face for a while, clear enough that she was traumatized of what she just heard from that room. Blinking a few times and trying to forget about it, the door opening slightly catches her attention as she turns to the direction of it. Jongdae comes out of the entrance and sees her standing there, a bit surprised that she was here all along.
“There you are, I was wondering where you went. Is it too much for you?” He asks, walking towards her. Jie scratches the back of her head nervously. “It’s just the smell, it’s a bit too much. Is it normal?” She asks, still a bit confused with the whole transformation thing. Jongdae nods. “Yeah, don’t worry. I’m sure you’ll get used to it. You’re still transforming, it varies for others on how long they can be able to take it and such. You are getting the hang of it so, it shouldn’t be any problem.”
Jie nods in understanding. “Ah, I see.” A few seconds later, it hit her as to why she witnessed the whole thing from upstairs. Of fucking course, mating season. “Oh.” Muttering to herself, Jongdae looks at her, confused. “Hm? Did you say something, Jie?”
Jie looks up at him. “Wha? No, nothing.” She quickly denies and gives him a small smile, quickly looking down after that. Jongdae, still confused, leaves it at that and shrugs it off. “Ah! By the way, since it’s mating season, you know that we are going to be quite active. Not all of us, not the feeders. Only the Purebloods. So, Yixing hyung is not gonna be around much. As well as the others.” He explains.
Jie nods in understanding. “Right. I got it. So, what do the feeders do while their maker is out or just not around?”
“Well, some would either lock themselves up in their rooms, isolating themselves or they go somewhere where they relieve themselves.” Jongdae sits across her. “Yixing hyung always does the first one, he locks himself up. And it’s really quiet in there, we would often think he’s not there or something. Mating season is where we can’t really keep to ourselves, if we have mates then it’s easy for us but for those who don’t have one yet, it can get pretty bad for them to control it.”
“It’s the same for the werewolves, right?”
“Mhm, that’s right. Werewolves can also become mates with vampires too. Although, it’s rarely known though but still possible.”
“Ah, I see. But about the place that Purebloods go, don’t tell me it’s some sort of…..”
“Well…..it’s kind of what you’re thinking…”
“Oh….so….is it like a club or?”
“It’s sort of like that, but I guess you could say it’s more darker and primal in there. I’ve never gone there personally but I could, feeders can go if they want but mostly Purebloods who are uncontrollable during mating season go there, since it doesn’t realy affect us feeders as much as it does for them.”
Jie hums in understanding. Finally getting the bit of the season for vampires and werewolves, mostly about vampires. “A bit like a heat cycle.” She mutters. Jongdae hums in agreement, leaning his chin on the palm of his hand. “Yes. Works more for werewolves though, like Kris hyung and Tao. Whoo, they both can get cranky during this time of season so, it’s best to keep your distance from them. Hell, it’s best to keep your distance from all of us, excluding the feeders like me of course.”
“Is it starting for them now?” Jie asks, a bit of horror mixed in her tone. Jongdae shakes his head. “No but it’s nearing. It will start more next week, then they’ll get……active. Don’t worry though, they always let us know so, it will be okay. Just stay close with either Sehun or Jongin, they’ll keep you updated about this whole thing more.”
“Okay, I’ll be sure to keep that in mind then.” Jie responds and nods a bit. The silence coming through and the only sound providing was from the ticking clock. Moments later, Jongdae breaks the silence. “Hmm, I think it’s okay now.” Jie lifts her head up and looks at him. “Wha? The feast thing?” She asks, gesturing to the door. Jongdae nods.
“Yeah, do you still find the smell?” Jie shakes her head a ‘no’. Jongdae stands up and walks towards the door. “Come on, lets go in. Or if you want to stay here until it’s end, you can if you want.” Jie stands up directly and walks beside him. “I’ll just….come with you back inside.”
Jie sits by the table alone, leaning against it and slouching. She was getting a bit used to it now. However, the hunger was still difficult to accept. Especially, when hunting was in session. Hearing her stomach grumble again, she groans. Hmm….seriously…..
“You really should eat, you know?” Hearing that familiar voice, she didn’t bother to turn her head to the belonger of the tone. “Don’t feel like it.” She mutters, gripping onto her stomach tighter than before. She hears him mutter something under his breath, obviously annoyed. And then the sweet smell hits her nose, she knew what he was doing. Footsteps coming to her and she lifts her head to his direction, seeing the bloody wrist infront of her.
“Sehun, I’m fine.” She assures him, it didn’t really convince Sehun since he gave her a look that called ‘really’ to her. “I can tell whether you’re lying or not, you can’t really hide anything from me or any of us.” He explains, bringing his wrist closer to her. Jie sighs and grabs his wrist gently, putting her mouth on the blood that was gushing out of it and sucking gently. When she is done, she puts her other hand over it and heals the wound the same way she healed the wounded wolf from before.
Releasing her grip on his wrist, Sehun looks at his healed wrist and blinks in astonishment. “Thanks for doing that.” He says, taking a seat beside her. “No problem.” She leans against the table again, resuming her former position from before but turning her head to Sehun, facing him. He leans his chin on the palm of his hand. “You’re getting used to this.”
“Hmm….yeah, I guess. Although, the mating season thing still scares me.”
“Yeah, I can understand. Especially when you heard something that you shouldn’t have, your ears are traumatized.”
Her eyes widens at his response, she shoots her head up. Horrified expression on her face. “How-“ Sehun cuts her off and chuckles a bit. “Like I told you before, the mental connection is never sugarcoated. We can hear whatever anyone is thinking or saying, or what they even saw so, I think all of us knew what you witnessed. We just tend to avoid the subject so, it won’t be awkward for anyone.” Sehun realizes what he’s done. “…..Maybe until now…”
Jie groans. “I shouldn’t have went upstairs, if I knew or remembered that it was mating season then I wouldn’t have done that.” She mutters, tapping her fingers on the table, making a faint sound after it. Sehun laughs. “You’re so curious so even if you knew, you would still do it.” He responds.
She gives him a dead look and groans again. This only made Sehun laugh again. “It’s true, right?”
Jie doesn’t reply and closes her eyes, exhausted. Sehun sees the look and sighs, going into the same position as her slouching against the table and leaning a bit closer to her. She senses him and opens one of her eyes, seeing his face near her. “Sehun.”
“Hm?” He innocently questions. “Can you….back it up a bit? You’re too…close.” She expresses, trying to hide the fact that she feels a bit weird. “Sorry. Let’s just say that when you’re used to this, you’ll have weird habits.” He explains, which earns him a weird look from her. “So, your habit is being near to anyone? Like this? What you’re doing?”
“I guess you could say that.” He answers, still not moving away from her. She exhales through her nose and closes her eyes again. She hears a bit of shuffling and opens her eyes quickly after that, only to be met by him again but he was a bit too close, much to her discomfort, she screams a bit and she quickly moves away from him, falling from the chair during the process.
Sehun smirks. “You fell for me?” He cheekily remarks. Jie growls a bit from his response and stands up. “I’m gonna….go and take a nap or something.” She says and walks away from him but not before hearing him calling out to her teasingly. “Okay, make sure to dream of me while you’re at it.”
She mentally facepalms and sighs. “Jongdae said that mating season doesn’t affect feeders but why does it look like one of us is? Sehun looks like he’s fucking horny or something and I swear I smelled something on him.” She says under her breath, then realizing something. “Oh. I forgot the honorific.” She mutters an apology, knowing that it’s not really escapable anymore.
Lying on the bed, spread out, she lets out a breath and rests her tiring eyes. Drifting off into a deep sleep and letting herself relax. Steady breathing, her chest lifting slightly from the action.
My blood….It’s….I’m so hungry….
I can’t control it anymore
I don’t remember…..anything…..
