[Part 1], [Part 2], [Part 3], [Part 4], [Part 5], [Part 6],
Taehyung sat on the front of the campus grounds, sitting on the freshly cut lawn with an upset look on his face, he was both upset with you and himself. He was upset with you for the reasons that before you moved that you were so oblivious to how he was and still is in love with you after so long of being treated as just some friend, upset that after your newly found popularity, after being separated from you for those dreadful two years that you seemed to be gaining so much attention from all the boys as he put it and seeming to tangle yourself into a sticky love triangle or what ever shape that had how sides you had admirers and what made him most upset, out of all the things you could have done - you had forgotten him. Forgotten all the times spent with one another, forgotten all the memories of riding your bikes through the empty streets at midnight to holding hands underneath the water during night swims at the most ridiculous hours. You’d forgotten all of that, all those memories that Taehyung would forever treasure in his broken and bruised heart and yet he still loved you. Sometimes he really despised loving you, because it was only one sided and that all theses fantasies he would find himself thinking of spending numerous hours with you, doing something, being someone and existing somewhere with all the love that could ever exist in the world were all apart of his imagination, never meant to be real and only meant to be fantasies in his mind. He sighed out heavily, roughly pulling at the grass strands and carelessly throwing them away just like he felt you did with his heart.
“Geez, what did that grass ever do to you?”
Taehyung’s ears perked up at the sound of the voice, the voice frightening him a bit because he only had been in silence the whole time he sat on the lawn and was suddenly disturbed with the sound of someone’s voice he couldn’t recognize. Once his heart beat started to slow down after the quick jump it got from the anonymous person’s voice, he turned around to look at this anonymous person and wanted so badly to roll his eyes in annoyance because he seriously didn’t need this right now, especially Kai staring down at him with only a shred of amusement. Taehyung looked back down at the ground, cursing quietly to himself before he continued what he was doing before Kai had suddenly appeared and decided to notice someone for the first time who isn’t popular.
“What are you doing here?” Taehyung dared to speak between the two of them, afraid he would just speak and there would be no answer afterwards because this was how Kai could sometimes be to others who weren’t popular like him, going on and picking at the grass because this was the only thing he could actually do without completely thinking of you.
“Thinking,” Kai answered back simply, surprising Taehyung who didn’t expect him to speak at all. Taehyung looked up at the popular and always so called gorgeous boy, noticing the bitter with a bit of sad emotion he tried so hard not to express with his face, the boy folding his arms over his chest and looking at what was ahead of them. Kai looked down at Taehyung, asking him, “What about you?”
“Thinking.” Taehyung answered simply as well, pulling once on the grass with much more strength, resulting on a noticeable patch of grass missing from the perfect patch that grew on the front of their school campus.
“What about?” Kai asked curiously, confusing Taehyung for two reasons. 1) because he didn’t expect them to speak anymore because there was nothing to speak about and 2) he wasn’t sure what he was referring to when he asked what about.
“What?” Taehyung asked in confusion, his eyebrows knitting together in and squinting his eyes so the sun rays wouldn’t blind his eyes.
“What are you thinking of?” Kai asked, more clearly this time around, still staring at what was ahead of him even if it wasn’t such a beautiful view that made you stare as long as he did.
“Oh,” Taehyung understood Kai’s questions, “It’s just useless girl drama, nothing Kim Jongin would want to get himself into.”
Kai looked back at Taehyung for the second time since they began to talk with one another, letting out a tired sigh before he sat himself down on the grass right beside Taehyung, who watched him with confusion but as well as a bit of disbelief and fascination because someone as popular who made heads turn everywhere he went managed to sit beside someone as normal and as non-important as Taehyung and even tried to have a conversation with him. Taehyung didn’t know his motives nor his intentions but saved that thinking for later as he heard Kai begin to speak.
“I can help you out,” Kai mentioned to Taehyung, who was now more than ever suspicious of what Kim Jongin was up to, “I mean, I am Kim Jongin after all.”
Taehyung swallowed a nervous lump that started to develop in his throat, debating whether he should confess what was currently going on with you to Kai who was apart of the whole mess with you but the more he thought about it, he knew that nobody could help him out with his current situation, so why not ask someone who was involved as well as knew what girls were like these days.
“There’s this girl…” Taehyung began to confess to Kai, nervously fiddling with the grass from the grounds and avoiding Kai’s eyes because he was afraid that if he so much as glanced at the boy, the boy would find out and react badly to what he was confessing, “We’ve been friends for the longest time, most of our lives really and I’d always had feelings for her but she moved away two years ago and I was lost and confused until two years later, I moved here and happened to go to the same school as her. But she’s changed, she’s different…and it looks like she’s flirting with multiple guys and I still have feelings for her and want to tell her this, but she’s forgotten me, so I’m kind of just…stuck."
"That’s tough, sorry man,” Kai apologized sympathetic before Taehyung watched as the tanned model material man rubbed his hands together before he crossed his arms over his chest, facing Taehyung for the third time since they talked once again before he said, “Well, it seems as if your feelings aren’t going to disappear anytime soon, so if I was you, I would make a move on this girl. Impress her, talk with her, do anything that would get you somewhere beyond the status you two have with one another.”
“But she’s obviously in love with someone else, it’s no use.” Taehyung finally had the courage of saying out loud, not believing he’d ever let those words slip from his mouth because he didn’t want to say this and have it be true because you couldn’t love anyone else, otherwise all those sleepless nights spent thinking of you and all those days where he desperately wished you were his were all for nothing and he didn’t want to accept that.
“Here’s what I believe, it’s not hard to fall out of love with someone if you don’t truly fall in love with them in the first place. A lot of people these days always claim that they fall in love, that they’ve found the one - that’s all fucking crap. There’s no love, there’s no life and there’s no god damn humanity. Nothing that’s suppose to exist exists anymore. So, I don’t truly think your girl is in love with some other guy. She’s just infatuated, there’s a clear and big difference.”
Taehyung stared at Kai for a moment, shocked such words could come out of his mouth. He cursed to himself, now discovering why everyone stated that Kai was the essence of perfection because he really was, from all points that people could see from. The words Kai spoke replayed in Taehyung’s head over again, Taehyung nodding his head once before he said with a satisfied look on his face, “Thanks.”
“Don’t mention it.” Kai commented with a smile that girls all over would go nuts upon seeing the display of emotion, Taehyung watching as Kai stood up from his place on the grass, dusting off his behind before Taehyung found himself asking, “What about you? What are your problems?”
Kai looked down at Taehyung, staring down at him with no emotion showing before he showed a small smirk and said, “Trust me, you don’t want to know."
And just like that, Kai left and the conversation ended.
You sighed in content, happily skipping around the small space of your room, stopping yourself before you would hit your leg on something, eying the gift bag Sehun had given you at lunch after he sang a song to you in front of the whole student body in the cafeteria.
You looked at the gift bag suspiciously, remembering how you hadn’t seen everything Sehun had purchased for you and how during your study session later on in the afternoon, Sehun had asked about the gifts you received. He seemed nervous and you noticed how tense he became when he mentioned this to you, his body relaxing and a relived sigh leaving his thin lips when you told him how you didn’t see all he gave you. You wondered what was inside the gift bag that could make Sehun so nervous about, slowly walking towards the gift bag that was placed on your bed and looking inside, removing all the gifts you saw at lunch before you removed your signed manga and pulled out the last of the presents he came bearing.
You pulled the box of Pepero’s out of the gift bag, examining the box of chocolate sticks treats as you held them in your hands the air, eying the cute blood red and rich golden ribbon wrapped around the box. You turned the box around, noticing how their was a small white note beyond the ribbon, stuck to the box. You carefully removed the ribbon from its place around the box, peeling the note off and looking at it to find no words, just Sehun’s signature with a heart next to it written in blue pen. You shrugged carelessly, walking over to your window and sitting down at your small desk and chair you placed right at the window so you could watch how the stars decorated the electric sky as you scribbled words down that told a story into your journey. You sat back, placing your combat boot covered feet onto the desk just as Sehun use to do in almost every class, getting your phone out of your pocket before you snapped a photo of the Pepero’s you received, choosing to not post it on Instagram before you sat there, eating the Pepero’s while you mindlessly scrolled through all your photos because you didn’t have any other social media besides Instagram and Tumblr, but you were too addicted to Tumblr at one point where you’d stay up until 5 am in the morning searching for gifs on your favorite anime series and reading other people’s writings as well, so you restrained yourself from using the app that basically was starting to ruin your life, in a good way you always said and remained just texting others, listening to music or looking through your photos. You made a surprised sound when a notification appeared at the top of your screen as you scrolled, tapping on the text message just sent to you and reading it over.
Hey, you wanna do something together on Friday night? I promise we’ll be back right before curfew ;) - Taehyung
You shook your head in amusement at the boy, snickering quietly to yourself as you typed a quick reply to the boy about how you’d love to and would kick him if you missed your curfew. You smiled happily down at the texts sent between the two of you, finding them amusing while others would think you two were the most insane people ever to walk the planet, but that didn’t matter because you two were having fun talking about the most random things which made you more excited to hang out with him on Friday because there wouldn’t be any awkward silence between the two if you could talk about any subject in the world.
Sehun happened to walk past his window, you sitting at your window which wasn’t covered by any curtains as usual catching his eye and causing him to walk over to his window, watching you smiling down at your phone. The next minute he watched you laugh, throwing your head back and using your hand, the very hand that he had the privilege of holding, to cover your gaping mouth as you laughed. He could hear the faint sounds of your laughter from his window, a small smile surfacing onto his face as his ears found the sound of your laughter the one that could make flowers bloom before Spring and the sun begin to shine. He watched on as you laughed until you stated to yourself that your stomach was beginning to hurt before you stared back down at your phone, snickering to yourself as you replied to the text sent to you. Sehun’s fond smile quickly began to fade, being replaced with that same look that completely made everyone avoid him but look at him in curiosity.
He found himself rolling his eyes, quickly assuming that the person you were texting was Kai and found himself becoming annoyed and frustrated because you kept on talking to the boy, even if his intentions were bad and he didn’t really care for anything except your body. He felt his blood boil, frustrated that Kai was completely wrong in every way and you still appeared to like him while Sehun, only a person who was wrong in the sense of making decisions on what was best, have to make an effect for you to at least start talking to him once again, let alone like him. It wasn’t that he didn’t like to make an effort to impress you, to be honest he’d do anything for you but the fact that he had to try harder than the guy who clearly didn’t deserve you made him furious. He shook his head in annoyance, looking at you once more, seeing that one smile on your face that physically made his body relax and a small smile of fondness to appear on his face. He let out a sigh of relief, deciding to stop watching you before you’d catch him and walked away from window, just when you looked into his.
"Hey Nat, do you have any time this afternoon?” You asked Natalie who you were currently sitting with in your art class during lunch, watching her in the process of drawing a detailed sketch of someone you couldn’t make out just yet, but you could tell that they were a boy and it was going to be the perfect masterpiece.
Natalie tore her eyes from the paper she was drawing on, stopping all hand movements that created a masterpiece on her paper and looked at you with a curious expression, asking you, “It’s the one afternoon I have off this week besides the weekend, why?”
You don’t know why but you suddenly felt nervous when she asked you this, thinking it should be normal to hangout with someone you’ve just met to get to know them but for some reason, you felt a small nagging feeling of the hangout you were suppose to have wasn’t a friendly hangout. You brushed that off quickly, thinking that Taehyung couldn’t possibly like you already because he literally almost a week ago just met you, so he couldn’t have possibly already started crushing on you, besides you weren’t worth crushing on, you believed. You believed every other girl possessed something, something beautiful, unique and special while you on the other hand, were just normal. You never had a great self-esteem, but you felt as if it was good enough to get by.
“I’ve gotta go shopping for an outfit.” You explained shortly to her, looking towards her drawing rather than her face as you said this.
“Why?” She asked, tossing her healthy strands of almost golden blonde hair to the side before she ruffled her strands with her hand and looked at me with tired eyes.
“Because I’m going out with Taehyung on Friday night and I don’t think I have a suitable outfit in my closet.” You answered honestly, watching Natalie perk up when those words left your lips, appearing wide awake by your your words as her eyes widened and she looked at you, her eyes sparkling and a beautiful emotion of shock painted across her flawless features.
“Do you like him?!” She asked in surprised while your eyes widened, beginning to laugh a little bit at her theory because it wasn’t right, or even possible in your mind at the moment.
“No,” You confirmed with a light chuckle, “I just met the boy for gosh sakes, plus he’s the one that asked me if we could go out on Friday night and we don’t really know each other, so I took this opportunity to find out what he’s really like.”
“Oh okay,” Natalie understood with a small relieved smile, going on to ask, “When’s your date with Jongin?”
“Saturday.” I answered before you bit down on your lip, making you even more nervous about to come on the date with Mr. Popularity Perfection himself, Kim Jongin when someone mentioned the date that was actually one of your first, which made it even more nerve-wrecking because you weren’t sure what you were suppose to really do on a date, especially with Kai, so you definitely weren’t looking forward to the date with Kai as much as people thought you would.
“Do you have an outfit to wear then?” She asked curiously to which you answered to with a nod, still biting down on your bottom lip, “You can borrow my clothes when you go out with Taehyung.”
“Thanks, Nat.” You smiled gratefully, opening your arms widely to which Natalie laughed at in amusement before you two shared a warm and loving embrace, one that melted away all of your worries and made you think that maybe things weren’t as bad as you thought they were if you had such a great friend like Natalie.
“You wanna come inside?” Baekhyun asked Jungkook with a sweet and welcoming smile as they stood right outside the door to Baekhyun’s house they walked to hand-in-hand just like everyday on Friday afternoon.
Jungkook began to blush a pink color in his cheeks, smiling shyly down at the ground which Baekhyun smiled fondly towards. Jungkook shyly chuckled to himself, touching the back of his neck and slowly looking up at Baekhyun with an even more shy smile, saying to him, “Umm, yeah. I mean, if you want me to.”
Jungkook’s eyes widened in surprise, his throat going dry and his jaw touching the ground as he stared aimlessly at Baekhyun, who looked at the boy with a questioning look, "What?”
“I thought you said…” Jungkook started to explain, slowing his speech down and stopped talking when he realized what he was about to tell Baekhyun, blushing a new and dark red color in his cheeks because of the level of embarrassment he’d never reached until this point in his life. “I thought you said you wanted me.”
Baekhyun began to laugh at the boy, using his hand to cover his mouth while his eyesmile appeared brightly and clearly as he laughed, leaving Jungkook to look down at the floor in embarrassment, hoping the blush on his cheeks would eventually fade away and also hoping that in the future, he wouldn’t be as embarrassing as he is now.
Jungkook felt his chin being touched by a cold finger, the finger bringing his head up and causing his eyes to look into Baekhyun’s directly, the blush he hoped would fade away only remaining, becoming even much more of a permanent and darker blush as they stared into each other’s eyes. Baekhyun stepped forward, his lips only a painful inches away from Jungkook’s that shook slightly at how close Baekhyun was to him at that moment. Jungkook tried his best not to stare down at the lips he was being teased with, averting his eyes to Baekhyun’s that only held mischievous and trouble in them. Jungkook couldn’t help it but glanced back at those same lips again, killing himself in the process before his eyes were averted to Baekhyun’s eyes again as he heard the older boy say, “If you wanted me, you could of just asked.”
Baekhyun chuckled lightly, pulling his face away from Jungkook who could literally feel himself dying inside because of how much Baekhyun was messing with him. Baekhyun happily took Jungkook’s hand in his like the last two painful minutes didn’t happen and led inside the house that Jungkook loved the second he walked inside, impressed with the decor of the house and how big it was, it made him feel like he’d walked straight into a five-star hotel that only worldwide stars stayed in and not the residence of some senior high schooler.
“I swear, your lounge is the size of my whole house, including the front porch and the backyard swimming pool, that’s how big your house is.” Jungkook commented, plotting right down on Baekhyun’s bed and watching the boy walk in his direction.
Baekhyun laughed as to what he said, plotting down right next to Jungkook on his nicely made bed, sitting with his legs slightly crossed as Jungkook and him simply talked, the conversation they were having lasting hours, the boys never getting tired of one another and only being more and more fascinated with one another the more they talked and found out new and different things about one another.
As the sun began to set, the sun being put to rest and the moon finding its place with the glistening stars in the electric blue sky, the two lovesick boys still talked with one another, not even noticing how much time had passed by and only focusing on the conversation they were having and the features the other had, a glowing atmosphere of perfection and pure happiness appearing around the both of them.
Baekhyun fondly smiled at Jungkook as he told a story about how his friends and him went sky diving a few months ago and how he was the most excited and least bit scared of the frightening height they fell from, only explaining that he wasn’t scared because flying was a sense of freedom so there was no reason to be so afraid, the fond smile catching Jungkook’s attention, stopping him for going any further with his story and asking Baekhyun, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, it’s just you’re really freaking angelic is all.” Baekhyun honestly explained to the boy with a smile, immediately causing the boy to flush a dark pink color in his cheeks as he shyly chuckled to himself, his angelic baby smile showing as he did so.
He felt his chin being lifted up, his eyes quickly catching and staring into Baekhyun’s eyes and before he even knew what was going on, he felt those very same lips that were inches away from his earlier press against his sweetly. He stopped himself from gasping in surprise, his eyes widening in shock and the blush on his cheeks only intensifying as the reality of his lips against Baekhyun’s began to settle into his system. Baekhyun’s soft lips that made Jungkook’s body shiver at how soft and sweet they were moved against Jungkook’s stiff with shock ones. Jungkook quickly thought to himself how he was currently having his first ever kiss and wasn’t even doing anything during the kiss except letting Baekhyun kiss his lips, so instead of having a sad story to tell about how he didn’t do anything except stay awkwardly still during his first kiss, Jungkook began to kiss back, sparking something like excitement in Baekhyun when he felt Jungkook’s move with his, their hearts beating rapidly with the immense feeling of euphoria they got when they kissed one another.
Baekhyun, being the daring boy he is, pulled his lips away from Jungkook’s that so desperately wished to kiss Baekhyun’s once again. Baekhyun smiled fondly and innocently to the boy, getting up from his place on the bed and sitting directly on Jungkook’s lap, Jungkook blushing once again at Baekhyun’s daring and brave actions. Baekhyun’s hands that were warmer now cupped Jungkook's pink cheeks, their lips in contact once again as Jungkook’s hands couldn’t help but gripped tightly onto Baekhyun’s hips. This carried on for a while, just two teenagers having their second kiss, technically, but with less awkwardness like they’d kissed thousandth of times, like they’d known each other for their entire lives. Baekhyun bit down on Jungkook’s bottom lip, the bitten lip boy accidentally letting out a low moan at the good feeling. Baekhyun pulled his lips away from Jungkook’s, smiling happily down at Jungkook as he said, “You’re cute when you moan.”
(LOOK, I KNOW THIS IS BAEK AND SEHUN BUT CAN WE JUST FOR A SECOND PRETEND THAT IT'S BAEK AND JUNGKOOK, THANK YOU)
“Oh my gosh.” Jungkook expressed in embarrassment, closing his eyes and hiding his face in Baekhyun’s chest in the act of utter shame while Baekhyun simply chuckled at the boy, bringing his hand to the younger boy’s hair and ruffling it a bit.
Suddenly, the door to Baekhyun’s door flew open, the door hitting the wall violently, causing Jungkook to get the shock of his life, his heart skipping multiple beats before it stopped beating at all when both Baekhyun’s mother and father stood at the door, Baekhyun’s father with his arms crossed over his chest and a angry look cemented onto his face while his mother held her small hand with a fresh watermelon pink manicure to her bold red lips as her mouth slightly gaped open. Jungkook froze completely, staring wide eyed like a deer caught in the headlights at his boyfriend’s parents that stood at the door, scared that so much trouble would be ahead while he noticed his boyfriend didn’t even look surprised at being caught sitting on the lap of another boy, on his bed, completely alone in his bedroom. Surely Baekhyun should be afraid and shocked at the fact that his parents just caught their son sitting on some other boy’s lap in his own room, but no, he was completely calm, only appearing annoyed.
“Byun Baekhyun, what in the world is going on here?” His father questioned, his mother too shocked to ask this question even if she’s seen these kind of scenes multiple times, “And who is this? Some boy toy?”
Baekhyun let out a sigh of exhaustion, “Dad, he’s my boyfriend."
"Get off your so called boyfriend right now, young man.” His mother spoke for the first time with her hand away from her mouth and a small frown that expressed how upset she was, making Jungkook feel even worse for what he did.
Baekhyun sighed dramatically, climbing off Jungkook’s lap, the warmth of his body instantly evaporating which caused Jungkook to unknowingly shiver at the sudden loss of heat. Baekhyun sat down right next to Jungkook, who stood up just the second Baekhyun sat down, quickly grabbing his belongings before he walked towards the doorway of Baekhyun’s room, being the polite boy he is and bowing respectfully to Baekhyun’s parents and going on to say, “I’m sorry for causing such trouble. I promise that this will never happen again and just to assure you, I will treat your son like the prince he is and will give him whatever he wants because he deserves that and so much more. I’m sorry once again."
Baekhyun’s mother couldn’t help but smile at the younger boy and how he spoke so highly of her precious son. She let out a relieved sigh, happy that maybe this one boy Baekhyun brought home wouldn’t disappoint him nor break his heart like the many others, placing her hand on Jungkook’s shoulder and saying with a smile, "We’ll let it slide this time. Now get home, your parents must be worried about you.”
“Okay,” Jungkook said with a small smile, bowing respectfully once again, “Have a good night, Mr. & Mrs. Byun.”
“You too.” Baekhyun’s mother smiled hopefully at the younger boy, watching the younger boy’s head turn in the direction he heard a voice call out for him. Baekhyun’s mother watched as Baekhyun winked at him playful while he held up a peace sign, her son becoming the definition of adorable to her but to also Jungkook. Jungkook chuckled, mirroring the boy’s actions with a blush on his cheeks and with a little bit less enthusiasm, turning around and walking out of the house, breathing out a sigh of relief to leave the awkward situation he hoped was over with involving Baekhyun’s parents.
He turned back to look at the house, lights now on at the residence and a few silhouettes of people appearing in the lights. Jungkook’s eyes wondered to the window he always looked at whenever he dropped Baekhyun off, just to make sure the boy got to his room safely, watching the closed curtains open just a bit for him to see Baekhyun standing by the window, opening the window and saying to the boy, “Get home safely, Kookie.”
“I will,” Jungkook promised his sweet boyfriend with a fond smile, thinking for a moment before he said to the boy, “Baek, I’m in like with you.”
Baekhyun smiled bashfully, his cheeks turning a pale pastel color before he said back with a shy smile, “I’m in like with you too.”
You nervously paced in front of your full-length with your head down, billions of thoughts going through your head as you kept on glancing at your reflection in the mirror every time you paced past your mirror. Eventually you ended up not pacing anymore because you were starting to feel dizzy, stopping right in front the mirror and solemnly staring upon your figure.
You began to smile at your appearance, finding the clothing choice Natalie made for you for tonight different and fun, finding yourself wearing colours than black, blue or red and wore lively and happy colors, just like your soul. You twirled in front of your mirror, finding this appearance the most flattering on you as it complimented your figure and your personality at best. It wasn’t that you didn’t like your punk rock look, you really did, because you felt confident and empowered but it was nice to take a break from that edgy look and tone down a bit. You eyed the strands of your hair that fell from the sock neat bun you placed your hair into, quickly tucking them behind your ears and smiling once again.
“Sweetie, you have a guest!”
Your nerves immediately bundled into your stomach, showing a shy and nervous smile in the mirror before you let out a nervous sigh, quickly looking around your room if you had forgotten to do something for the thousandth time before you could confirm you were ready to go, walking out of your bedroom, shutting the door behind you and walking towards the stairs, witnessing Taehyung standing there, dressed casually chatting happily with your parents who immediately noticed your presence, all heads turning towards to you as you walked down the stairs with your cheeks flushed with a pink blush.
Taehyung watched you closely as you walked down the stairs, staring upon you in utter astonishment because he thought you couldn’t get any more beautiful than you already were, but here you were, even more beautiful than he’d last seen you, dressed much more lively and looking like an absolute princess. You walked down to the end of the stairs, jumping down from two stairs onto the ground which Taehyung was happy to see you still had the habit of doing, smiling his famous rectangular smile as he watched you approach him, asking you, “Are you ready to go?”
“Yeah, sure,” You confirmed with a head nod and a closed mouth smile, looking towards your parents as you said to them, “Bye. I promise I’ll be back by curfew.”
You lead the way out of the door, Taehyung following close behind you as you walked towards the other car in the driveway, assuming that this was his as the car unlocked and Taehyung opened the door for you, surprising you because you’d only read and written about boys like this who were true gentlemen and didn’t think that there would still be guys like this, but nevertheless, you smiled shyly at him, thanking him quietly before you climbed inside and he climbed in after you, starting the car and beginning to drive off.
Your eyes began to sparkle with excitement, something they hadn’t done in what seemed like centuries, a big glowing smile growing on your face more and more as your eyes laid on the bright and flashy lights that belonged to the incredible carnival that only came to your town for only one weekend, but was one of the best, almost better than any other carnival that came to town during the whole year. Many fun and pure happy memories came flooding into your mind when you stared upon the carnival that you use to go to before you moved to this town, finding out that your happiest moments where spent at this carnival which made you smile even more, grateful that Taehyung brought you here, some place you were the most happiest at but never went to.
Taehyung found a parking space near the carnival that made your heart beat with pure joy and your body race with adrenaline, the anticipation until you would be screaming your lungs out with a smile on your face on one of the rides that everyone was scared of going on becoming too much, feeling and only hearing your heart beat against your chest. Taehyung opened the door for you once again, holding his hand out for you which you took with a small shy smile, him helping you out of the car before your hands disconnected, your cold hand losing the warmth it once had when you held Taehyung’s hand lightly, as you closed the door behind you and heard the car instantly lock itself afterwards.
You soaked in the air, already hearing all the screams of fear but also delight of many people on many different rides. You breathed in the air, feeling the happiness and fun in the air that awoken an old feeling once buried deep in your soul. You sighed out in happiness with your eyes closed for a moment, feeling yourself releasing from the up-tight and restraining position you were always stuck in since you moved to this town and feeling yourself being free again, just like you were a few years ago. Taehyung watched you carefully with a genuinely happy smile on his face, happy to see that bringing you here already made you this happy and was hoping that maybe it could bring back memories of the multiples times you two took roadtrips with his older brother and his brother’s girlfriend at the time to the town you both lived in now and went to the same carnival. Even if you didn’t remember those many memories made at this carnival, he was still satisfied because you were here, in his presence, alone together and bound to have some fun and make even more memories together, so he really couldn’t complain and just said to you with a smile, “We haven’t even gotten inside yet, but you still look happy.”
Your head turned in his direction, your natural beauty always leaving Taehyung breathless, chuckling breathlessly just like he was before you said to him with a smile, “It’s just that I remember coming here a few years ago, when I actually didn’t live here and remembered being really happy here, so it’s brought back really good memories coming back here.”
Taehyung began to smile fondly at you, something that you always seemed blind to, hearing the boy say to you, “Well then, I’m really glad I brought you here.”
You sent Taehyung a happy smile, one that could make his heart leap out of his chest because of how precious and inviting it looked and how much happiness it held within it. You two entered the carnival that was free, one of the many perks about it and let yourselves decide which rides or which booths you were going to try out, many giggles, smiles and laughter shared between the two of you as you tried to decide where to go in the carnival that just had too many things going on for you two to quickly decide where to go.
Eventually after many playful arguments that were pointless but still amusing to you two, you finally planned out where you’d go in the carnival and left off to one of the rides that you wanted to try out first, your eyes lingering on one booth where a very cute blue and white stuffed cat was, you finding it completely adorable and wanted to take it home with you but your eyes set on the game that if you won you would get the stuffed cat as a reward and immediately came to the conclusion that you’d just only think of it as adorable and not have it because the game played to win the stuffed cat wasn’t something you were skilled nor good at. Taehyung saw your eyes lingering on the booth, following your eyes towards the stuffed cat and even finding it adorable himself, asking you, “Do you want that stuffed cat?”
You were surprised and slightly embarrassed that you were staring so long at the stuffed cat that Taehyung noticed, finding your cheeks becoming warmer than before as a pretty pastel pink blush set on your warm cheeks, chuckling nervously and in an embarrassed manner, placing your hand on your other arm and rubbing it, one of your habits you had when you were nervous and didn’t wear long sleeves, saying to Taehyung, “Kind of, but I suck at that game and plus, I would totally embarrass myself, so I’m not gonna even try."
"Come on.” Taehyung instructed you with a happy and rectangular smile on his face, walking ahead of you towards the booth where the adorable stuffed cat was, already talking to the man that worked at the booth, handing him the cash before he took the plastic hammer, slamming it against the base of the instrument to indicate how much force he hit with, hearing the bell go off when the small wooden block hit against the bell to signal that Taehyung’s strength proved worthy to win a prize, you screaming out in excitement before you raced over with your mouth slightly gaping open, amazed that Taehyung actually beat the machine that was always rigged, especially his first time around.
The kind man working at the booth smiled warmly towards the two of you, taking the adorable stuffed cat off the shelf and handing it over to Taehyung, wishing you two a good and fun night to which you two smiled at as you walked away the booth, suddenly coming to a stop when Taehyung stopped right in front of you to get down on one knee and held the stuffed cat up, his head down for just a moment before he looked up at you, a dramatic expression on his face that made you instantly giggle to yourself as you noticed the people walking past you two silly teenagers stare at you, your attention turning back to Taehyung as he said, “I know we’ve only known each other for a short period of time but I really think we’ve got something beautiful and amazing in the making, so would you please accept this stuffed cat that my grandma once gave me as a birthday present?”
You giggled to yourself, finding this current situation amusing to you and decided to play along, beginning to fake heave before you cried out a chorus of yes and of course, taking the adorable stuffed cat from Taehyung’s grip and throwing your arms around him enthusiastically with a smile on your face when he stood back up again, hearing Taehyung chuckle a bit before he hugged you back even tighter, for a moment lifting you off the ground which made you cry out in amusement and surprise before you felt your feet touch the ground again, pulling away from Taehyung and smiling at the boy, continuing your journey towards the ride you were going to try first and almost acting as if nothing happened, unaware of how one of the many girl students who were madly in love with Kai and basically stalked to the poor boy snapped pictures of you with Taehyung, taking more photos when you two hugged and he lifted you off the ground after he handed you the stuffed cat.
Kai’s hands moved feverishly, his lips doing all the talking as they moved with some other girl’s lips that he managed to snatch for his weekend make-outs. During the whole thing where his lips were moving with her over lip glossed lips and his hands roamed the outline of her figure that never seemed to feel any better no matter where he touched, he just felt off. He could only think of how if it was your soft and pretty pink lips that he was kissing, it was your body that his hands were roaming feverishly and impatiently and it was you that was just there with him, instead of some other girl he couldn’t even remember the name of.
He perked up when he heard his phone vibrate against the wooden bedside table surface, almost appearing eager to stop kissing the over lip glossed girl’s lips as he immediately reached over for his phone, ignoring the girl completely as he stared at the new messages he was receiving from one number that he had gotten tired of seeing, that was until some pictures sent from the number were sent that spiked his interest. He stared with a upset look on his face at the pictures taken of you and some other boy he couldn’t recognized because the stuffed cat you carried covered his face as you two hugged one another in one picture, the unknown boy picking you off the floor during the hug in another picture and many others when you two were hugging. Kai turned his phone off after he viewed the scandalous pictures of you and some unknown boy somewhere lively, feeling him grow more and more upset at the fact that you were out with some boy, even if you had a date with Kai the next day. Sure he knew what was he was doing with the over lip glossed girl was bad, but he wasn’t happy nor enjoyed anything with her while you looked really happy to be there and be in the presence of the unknown boy, shattering Kai’s heart a bit.
To be honest, Kai really did start to develop feelings for you, real feelings that he’d never thought he’d ever have whenever it came to a girl, and only said the things he said to Sehun just to protect his reputation, because he still cared about his reputation but gradually, after spending many moments with you, he started to care less and less about his reputation and started caring more and more about you. But it was clear that someone else had captured your heart, the heart he desired to have captured himself but love in the most gentle way. He let out a heavy sigh, shaking his head and realizing that he needed to leave before he’d break down right in front of the over lip glossed girl and walked out of her room and out of her house, walking back home with his hands in his pockets and his heart starting to crack in two.
“Woah! That rollercoaster was so cool! We should go on it again!” You cheered in excitement and a big smile permanently imprinted on your face. After Taehyung had supposedly proposed to you with the adorable stuffed cat that he claimed that he was given the exact same thing by his grandmother on his birthday, you two had gone on all the many rides you planned to go on and were having a blast with one another, screaming with one another as the rollercoaster dropped unexpectedly, laughing with one another when you started placing your ice cream onto each other’s faces when playful insults were said, smiling with one another as you walked happily and peacefully through the carnival that made you both feel your old souls feel alive again, after so many years of being locked away in the same position.
Taehyung just smiled fondly at you, not even thinking about it and took your hand in his, gently interlocking your fingers with one another and happily swinging your held hands as he stared around the lively and festive carnival, catching you off-guard the second when you felt your hand being held and almost making you pull away and awkwardly walk alongside him again, but when you saw how happy he was and how his eyes looked everywhere except for where you were, you assumed that he didn’t necessarily mean to hold your hand and want along with it, your fingers interlocking and your hands happily swinging in a perfect rhythm as you two walked together towards the famous Ferris wheel at the carnival after many hours spent sharing smiles, giggles and memorable experiences you will never forget.
You reached the famous Ferris wheel, settling inside safely before you felt the Ferris wheel begin to slowly move upwards to the most beautiful view of the city that anyone could get. As you were reaching the top, your eyes began to wonder, your lips slightly parting as your eyes laid on the beautiful view that was definitely worth defeating a fear of heights just to see once in a lifetime. You couldn’t help but have your colorful mind begin to wonder with ideas that were inspired by the beautiful view, idea after idea filling your head as your imagination ran wild just by the sight of the whole city at night before your very eyes.
“It’s so beautiful.” You expresses in amazement, your eyes only staring upon the view of the whole town that you didn’t have the slightest clue could be so lively and beautiful at night beyond your bedroom window.
Although the view of the whole city that lit up and looked like something from a picture from Tumblr, Taehyung found a better view that was easily more beautiful than the entire view of the city at night, that view was you. He stared at you with only fondness captured in his eyes, thinking to himself how beautiful and angelic you looked admiring something beautiful and prayed in that moment that you’d be his forever. He cracked the fond smile that begged to show on his face since the moment he saw you walk down those stairs and appear as the most beautiful anyone could ever get, saying back to you as his eyes only stared at you - nothing else, but you, “Yeah, the most beautiful thing I could ever lay my eyes on.”
You forced yourself to look away from the beyond beautiful view of the city you thought was just plain boring and bland the moment you started living here, your eyes directly staring into Taehyung’s ones that you finally after so many years, after so many years that he found himself falling more and more for you, so many years of being your friend but always wanting to he something more, after so many years of building a friendship that you had forgotten, you had finally noticed the fondness captured in his eyes when he looked at you, and just you. Your eyes seemed to stare into one another for the longest time, untold words being told in the stares and looks you found in one another’s eyes, finding yourself paralysed and breathless as you watched Taehyung lean inwards.
