Exotic Pope dance lesson in Germany - Narumi Lin 2018 August
As a pole dance instructor: Difficulty
Hi guys, I would love to share my experience about teaching pole dance from instructor's perspective. I used to teach PD (pole dance) in Taiwan for 4years. Started private lesson, slowly PD attracts girls/boys then I opened my own pole dance studio with partners.
First, I have to say PD is easy but as you practice more, definitely has difficulties. (and some knowledge how body works on the pole/techniques) Instructor should guides you RIGHT path and correct form avoids injury. Secondly, fear. PD tricks or combos sometimes makes you adrenalin to nail it. Well, of course we practice again and again and again! PD is so interesting that "mentally connected to your body". Here is funny experience that I had drink so much before I tried PD trick, then I just did it. ( This is normally you should not do, its dangerous part) So whole fear just gone by getting drunk. Therefore instructor is there for you. "How can I help students to be relaxed in the class?" What I do is, sometimes be silly or make them laugh. Ask students "How do you feel today? Are you motivated?" Make sure we all are same board and same level of motivation. Thirdly "Connect with students". We are human, practice makes it better. Instructor MUST spend more time in the studio to face to yourself. Without knowing yourself, you won't understand student's feeling. In the class I always try to show what is wrong or what it should be. Sharing those experience with students, easier to understand, and keep PD motivation will make you more confidence to learn PD.
Now I am teaching PD in Germany Heidelberg. If you ever come, visit me!
