pro-tip if you're playing one of the new pokemon games that forces the exp. share on you:
raise more than 6 pokemon
if you keep rotating additional team members in and out every couple levels, it'll help absorb some of the excess exp!
bonus: you get to raise more than 6 pokemon in one playthrough
Pokemon Card of the Day #2019: Exp. Share (Primal Clash)
Exp. Share also returned in the Primal Clash set, being a Pokemon Tool that was meant to help preserve Energy. When your Active Pokemon was Knocked Out by damage from an opponent’s attack, you could move 1 basic Energy card that was attached to that Pokemon to the Pokemon this card was attached to. It wasn’t the most common sight since there were plenty of Pokemon Tools that helped with retreating or added damage or Mega Evolution. It did get a bit of traction in the PRC-On format, however, in Darkrai/Garbodor decks. Exp. Share kept Energy in play to let Darkrai-EX deal more damage with Dark Pulse. Said deck tended to run only Basic Energy and Dark Pulse required just 2, so 2 Exp. Share in play could let the user keep said Energy in play for quite some time, building up damage as time went on. Other decks typically had better options, but even the normally forgotten Exp. Share found its place.
