Robert E. Ornstein - On the Experience of Time - Pelican - 1975
ok so theres shit goin down in the ufology community tday!!!!
theres this youtuber who claims he found a small inactive metal ufo similar to the buga sphere. he starts a livestream. starts drilling into the cylinder for 8 seconds. then turns around (holding the camera) and theres a huge blue orb of light. u can see it in the footage. he says "im sorry" in a wobbly voice and groans. he falls over. video basically goes black for 2 minutes then ends.
rumors are now circulating that hes dead!!!!! the orb killed him for interfering with the metal ufo thingy!!!!!
heres a reupload of the livestream. WARNING. THIS MAY POTENTIALLY BE A VIDEO OF A HUMAN BEING DYING.
a lot of ppl, including my dad, say its fake. just a larp for attention. we get those a lot in the ufology community unfortunately. personally i dunno. his voice sounds kinda real.
John Mack Interview 1994
The first 8 minutes is fascinating as John Mack talks about how to define "proof" and credibility to an obviously skeptical Charlie Rose.
"... in spite of what critics say I didn't come to establish the truth of this and I was warned not to say you take this seriously and it was a long time, 2 years, before I wrote or spoke publicly about it."
Rose: When did you turn? When did you begin to say, I believe these people?
Mack: I take them seriously. You know the word 'Belief' is full of treachery. Here it has a sense of you know, we're become part of some belief system. That it is something credible that involves some kind of reality that these people are encountering and needs to be taken seriously.
Ralph Blumenthal was a reporter for The New York Times from 1964 to 2009, and has written seven books based on investigative crime reporting and cultural history. His latest book The Believer: Alien Encounters, Hard Science, and the Passion of John Mack was published by High Road Books of the University of New Mexico Press on March 15, 2021. It’s the first biography of Pulitzer Prize-winning Harvard Psychiatrist John E. Mack (1929-2004) who risked an esteemed career to investigate stupefying accounts of human abductions by aliens.
Fascinating read.
I'm watching Hangar 1, MUFON's ufo show from a&e. This episode is full of witnesses getting gaslighted or made fun of by their s/o or parents. Can you imagine going through something so reality shattering and going to someone you trust and love to be made to feel like a fool? Fuck that noise, even if you can't accept it as real, it is real to the person confiding in you, it costs nothing to respect their experience as their own and be supportive.
