Discovering Howth
The perfect day trip for lovers of beautiful scenery, walking and coastal food. Howth is a small, charming seaside village just a short drive from Dublin with excellent transport links. Howth is the perfect place to spend a day away from the city with its amazing views, unique atmosphere, delicious seafood and friendly atmosphere.
TRAIL
Start your adventure at Howth DART station. Follow the signs to Howth Cliff Walk, which will take you along the coast. The trail offers a variety of routes of varying difficulty and distance. All routes are easy to walk and have beautiful and varied views from the ocean and lighthouse cliffs to the golf course, woodland, docklands and the pretty town. After the walk, the city offers a rest in the many pubs and restaurants that serve delicious coastal cuisine and a unique atmosphere.
TIPS
Food: If you’re hungry, try some fish and chips or seafood chowder from one of the restaurants . There’s nothing like fresh seafood by the sea.
Bring Layers: The weather can be windy and unpredictable, so bring a jacket and comfortable shoes.
See the Seals: Before you head back, stop by Howth Harbour to see if you can spot seals near the fishing boats. It’s a simple, peaceful way to wrap up your day.
Why You’ll Love Howth
Howth is the perfect mix of coastal beauty, small-town charm, and good food. It’s a relaxing break from the city that leaves you feeling refreshed and ready to take on Dublin again.

🇬🇧 #ThrowbackTuesday - 3 years ago I was travelling from Ireland to Brittany, France on the ferry. You couldn’t get a better spot to admire the Irish coastline and especially #Cobh, a pretty little town near Cork.⠀ ⠀ 🇫🇷 #tbt - Il y a 3 ans j'empruntais le ferry de l'Irlande à la Bretagne. Certainement un des meilleurs endroits pour admirer la côte irlandaise et plus particulièrement la petite ville de Cobh dans les environs de #Cork.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ —⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📍#celticwanderlust: #travelblog for the #Celtic enthusiast ☘️Follow me for travel tips & inspiration.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Chris⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ celticwanderlust.com⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔸🔸🔸🔸⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ #exploreireland #wanderireland #igersireland #irelandtravel #daily_ireland #ig_ireland #irelandaily #insta_ireland #ireland_gram #ireland_passion #bestirelandpics #raw_ireland #tourismireland #travelphoto #traveltheworld #travelgram #irlande #ireland #visitireland #discoverireland #InstantIrlande #countycork #instatravel⠀ ⠀ ⠀ (at Cobh, Ireland) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bs8r-A_gqGR/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=16zm49oa7mx2i
