i kinda just have a feeling that if the accident never happened maybe Hoseok would have tried to get her back idk maybe
ooooooohh...honestly, I’ve thought about it.
When I was considering adding memory loss or not to the story, I played with a fuck ton of ideas and outcomes. Had Hoseok not gotten into his accident...what would’ve happened? If he happens to regain his memories, what would happen then?
I think....if Hoseok never got into his accident....they wouldn’t have gotten back together. Just because younger Hoseok is a person of too much pride and once he makes a decision, he doesn’t usually go back on it. As hard as it would be, he’d force himself to move on and eventually, he’d be able to. It’s not fair for him to show up out of the blue and apologize and ‘take oc back’, you know? like he broke this girl’s heart, he’s not gonna come trotting back to their hometown and be like ‘im soooooryyyy let’s get back together :D’. Like no.
Years would pass, maybe they’d run into each other....but I highly doubt Hoseok would hire oc to be an HR manager in his firm. Much less, I doubt that oc would even drop her application - just cause she’s seen him around and she realizes the damage has been done too much beyond any kind of repair. She could never work for him. Had Hoseok remembered, his presence would’ve still linger in her life from their friends, in their hometown, etc. When he forgot, he kind of disappeared from everything...so yeah....it allowed oc to breathe better.
In a way, because of Hoseok’s accident, it offers a truly clean slate. It allowed oc to work at his firm, to kind of get used to him again, to kind of grow alongside each other without any emotional baggage....for them to kind of be friends again.
Let’s just say if he regained his memories from back then, I don’t think it would be a good thing.

asdfghjkl i love you. okay now that I’ve gotten that off my chest, hmmm. You’re definitely right. Hoseok’s in as much pain as oc is and he’s suuuper confused -and it’s not his fucking fault that he doesn’t remember lol what’s he supposed to do????? drink a magic potion to remember again??? wtf.
but then again, I think they do sympathize with his situation....to a certain extent. Definitely Sowon sits him down and talks to him more gently than she actually usually does (she’s the type to slam the door in his face). And his pain is the reason why oc even offers him another chance. had he remembered...she would’ve told him to get the fuck out of here lol
Sadly enough, Hoseok lives a pretty isolating life. He really doesn’t have anyone that understands the situation enough and would coddle/comfort him. Except for OC really, who does tell him that it’s okay.
I definitely thought about it though. If you don’t remember what you did, are you still culpable for your crimes? I think yes. In more extreme circumstances, if a serial killer had a stroke and lost all their memories...is they still responsible for killing all those people? Yes. In less extreme terms, if as a kid you ran over the old lady neighbour’s toes with your tricycle and as an adult you no longer remember....is it still your fault? I’d say yes...cause it did happen....it’s not like it didn’t.....but people would be more forgiving considering you don’t remember.
I think just cause Hoseok doesn’t remember, it doesn’t mean he’s out of the clear. At the end of the day, oc still remembers what he did and what their relationship was like. But I also think it hurts more for her that he doesn’t remember rather than the fact that he hurt her...
ALSO they DEFINITELY let him flounder HAHAHHA the only people who remember well are oc, his family, and their friends. Well....OC had reason to not tell him and she was definitely noooot aware that he was developing feelings (she’s more worried that she’s developing feelings again). They weren’t even in contact with their old friends. And as for his family loooool tbh, they want them to get back together so they stepped back and let the fire burn.
