Tumblr search isn't working great for me so I'm sorry if I missed this, but do you have a post about travel between fo3 areas and new vegas? My courier is the same as my fo3 character and I've ignored the logistics of that for a long time.
I sure do! Here you go:
- Wow, so uh, you all really liked my post on foot travel between Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 locations, so buckle up and get ready for r
It has been…geez, over five years since I was last in the Mojave - COVID put paid to the last trip I had planned - and this makes me want to go back soon.
If you are curious about/have questions related to any specific irl equivalents to fo3 or fo76 map areas, or have travel route questions about those areas, please feel free to ask if it would be helpful to you! I live/work in the region and have no qualms about answering questions like “…where can I find the closest IRL manhole cover to the Jefferson Memorial?” or “but how do I get from DC to Point Lookout by /land/?” or “show me the metro station at Farragut North?” or “can I go to Raven Rock IRL?”
@twosides--samecoin and I both frequently travel through irl-equivalent areas to the fo4 map these days too (she has much better irl experience with fo4 map territory than I do, and she is getting quite familiar with the greater fo3 map area as well). I’m sure I wouldn’t mind an excuse to make a detour!
Hope this helps.
Got to the drilling site from the Aldecaldos path, and while I could enter the yard, I cannot get inside the tunnel.
Well, let’s face it, there are worse places to be stuck in traffic when you have a Fallout blog and write about MacCready
So I’m down in DC tonight so I walk down by the memorial, right? With me so far?
Okay, good. But - what’s this?
Oh my God the 2270s called, they want their decor back
Freaking kidding me, I walked into the wrong timeline again
@twosides--samecoin send help, I wore a different brown jacket and it still happened
(It’s actually an accessibility improvement project. Pretty cool!)
I lied - there is one overlook view out this way that is better than Pen Mar: High Rock. Made it in time for sunset.
(Bonus: cursed-image shockedpikachu.jpg is my fave)
When you’re somewhere for work this afternoon but you were just mentally in an alternate universe version of that place for fanfiction this morning and your brain starts trying to see the same area in three different time frames at once and I have such a headache right now
My evening defies all credible description, but I am now back from skipping across timelines the Twilight Zone Harpers Ferry
Discoveries made:
- I forgot you could walk across the trestle bridge, I am a bad local
- It is possible to see three separate trains within 15 minutes at the tracks where the Appalachian Trail meets the C&O footpath
- They decorate the heck out of that town for Halloween
- My duster apparently has the property “increases likelihood of random encounters by 95%”
- Deacon
- Freaking Deacon I swear I can’t even I’ll explain later
(Long story short, @twosides--samecoin now has carte blanche to send me on whatever further exploratory trips might be desired given this extremely entertaining evening)
