Thanks, Shell. I may be an awesome person, but I'm still a bad daughter. I feel like if I were a good daughter I'd want to talk to my mom and dad and not find reasons to hang up because talking with my them is awkward for me because neither of us have anything to say. My dad just spent 5 minutes telling me how to clean an a-coil on the air conditioner if it ever needed it (For no reason. This was not answering a question) I will make up excuses to get to hang up. When I go home to Oklahoma to visit Kris, the majority of the time I don't let them know I'm in Oklahoma. If they knew they would try to make me feel bad for spending time with Kris when I maybe only see them once a year. They are level 98 passive-aggressive guilt trippers and I've learned to deal with that over time, but I know I should talk and visit with them more. 

I love you guys.

yo I know that feeling. i love my family and I “should” talk to them more, but I’m not gonna talk to them about my everyday life like I did when I was little.

Yes! That's it. I actually have them blocked from my facebook so they can't look into my private life. I can't talk to them about my life really. I'm everything they're belief systems oppose. Every conversation used to become an argument when I was open with them, so I stopped being open. I bite my tongue to make my visit pleasant for them until I can't bite it anymore. Y'know how I mentioned I hate small talk earlier? Picture 3 days of small talk and that's what family visits are like because if I start a discussion that has any substance to it invariably my dad will get very angry at some point and start yelling over me.

Echt? Frost haben wir auch noch nicht so wirklich, Straßen sind bloß nass vom Regen, aber keineswegs glatt...

please, take ours. the continental US has stolen all the arctic air and I DON'T WANT IT OH GOD. the state of Indiana was basically shut down from snow a week or two ago. o_o

I'll gladly take some! I've heard about that hard winter you're having over in the US, it's like you took our European winter and put it on top of yours. If you could just send ours back, things would be fine for everyone, I guess. ;)
